Suggested March 2024 Print From Iphone/Ipad To Any Printer

Got a printer and need to print something from your iPhone or iPad? If your printer supports AirPrint, thing couldn’t be easier. The printer will just show up in the list and you’re good to go.

If you do not have an AirPrint-enabled printer, however, then you’re pretty much out of luck. Luckily, there are several ways you can convert any printer into an AirPrint-enabled printer.

Table of Contents

In this article, I’ll talk about the third-party tools you can install so that you’ll be able to print directly from your iPhone or iPad to your locally attached printer or network/wireless printer.

Before we get into the details, let’s talk about the requirements for this to work. Firstly, you need to have the printer already installed and working on at least one computer. It doesn’t matter if the printer is attached locally to the machine or if it is a wireless/network printer, it just needs to be installed on the machine.

Secondly, in order to print from your Apple device to your non-AirPrint printer, you’ll need to keep the computer on at all times. The third-party software basically acts as a proxy and all the print jobs go to the computer first and then are passed on to the actual printer.

Lastly, you’ll have to spend some money as these third-party apps are not free. It’s worth considering bypassing all of this trouble and simply buying a new AirPrint-enabled printer as they are pretty cheap these days.

With that out of the way, let’s get into the details. I’m going to mention several programs, some for Mac and some for Windows. In addition, I’ll talk about some hardware you can buy that will also act as a print server.

Windows AirPrint

For Windows machines, the most popular program is O’Print, which costs $19.80. You can download a free 30-day trial to make sure that it works properly with your printer and system. Overall, I found the program’s interface to be a little outdated, but the functionality was excellent.

Once you download and install the software, the main interface of the program will show you all the printers installed on your system.

If you do not see any printers in the list, it means you have to go to System Preferences – Printer & Scanners and add the printer to OS X first. Once the printer is added, go back to O’Print and it should show up in the list.

Now when you go to print from your iPhone or iPad and you tap on Select Printer, you should see all the O’Print printers listed under Other Printers. You’ll also see it has the name of the computer under the printer name.

There is one other option for Windows which requires a bit more technical setup, but is completely free. Check out this guide to install AirPrintActivator and see if it works for you.

Mac AirPrint

For Mac users, there are two programs I recommend: HandyPrint and Printopia. HandyPrint requires a donation in order to activate the license and the minimum amount is $5. So basically, you can purchase HandyPrint for $5. Printopia is $19.99, but HandyPrint has a PRO version that requires a $20 donation. The PRO version can run even when a user is not logged into the Mac.

Once you download HandyPrint, run the DMG file and then drag the icon onto the Applications folder in order to install it.

When you run the program, it’ll detect your printer and show it in the list. You’ll also need to make sure that the toggle button is set to On.

From your iPhone or iPad, you’ll now see all HandyPrint printers listed under Other Printers.

Printopia is pretty much exactly the same literally in terms of appearance and functionality.

Printopia also has a Send to Mac printer, which is a convenient way to print a document directly to your computer. Both programs worked very well in my tests, so I don’t really see any reason to spend $20 when you can get HandyPrint for $5.

Printer Pro

One last option that I should mention is Printer Pro by Readdle. It’s a combination iPhone/iPad app and desktop program that runs on Mac or Windows. The app is $7 in the App Store and the desktop app is free.

It works just like the other programs mentioned above in the sense that you need to have the desktop app running at all times in order for print jobs to go through. The smartphone/tablet app is definitely the most professional and polished app out there and it has a lot of features, so if you do some serious printing and need to change printer settings a lot, this might be your best option.

It’s worth noting that you should install the app on your iPhone or iPad first and see if it can print directly to the printer without the desktop app. According to the site, it can print directly from within the app to most printers without the additional desktop app. Overall, it’s a good option and not too expensive.

Lantronix xPrintServer

Outside of programs, you can also purchase a hardware device from a company called Lantronix that acts as a print server. The xPrintServer is something I have owned, so I know it works well. The only issues are that you need to make sure your printer is supported and it costs a whopping $200!

This is a really good solution if you are in a small office environment with many Apple users and many printers. It doesn’t really make sense for a home with one or two printers.

Fix: Print Unable Zc Error On Brother Printer

Fix: Print Unable ZC error on Brother printer

Try Outbyte Driver Updater to resolve driver issues entirely:

This software will simplify the process by both searching and updating your drivers to prevent various malfunctions and enhance your PC stability. Check all your drivers now in 3 easy steps:

Download Outbyte Driver Updater.

Launch it on your PC to find all the problematic drivers.

OutByte Driver Updater has been downloaded by

readers this month.

An annoying issue frequently prevents users from printing files on their Brother machine. When attempting to initiate the printing process, the error message Print Unable ZC will appear on the display.

This is a clear indication that the printer has a mechanical issue. In most cases, it detects an irregular power supply due to the operating environment. This usually happens when the machine is connected to a special power source such as a generator, a power inverter, or an uninterruptible power supply.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to get rid of the Print Unable ZC message error once and for all.

What can I do if getting the Print Unable ZC error? 1. Turn the power switch off and back on

Turn the switch off by pressing and holding the On/Off button on the machine panel.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the machine.

Wait 30 seconds or so before plugging the power cord back into the machine.

Finally, press and hold down the power key to power it back on.

If your printer’s display shows Ready at this point, then it’s your lucky day and the issue is resolved.

2. Put a filter into the power supply

Since this issue is related to an irregular power supply, think of a way to get the noise out of it. For newbies, power-supply noise is a combination of unwanted periodic ripple and spikes with random noise from the devices or other external sources.

You could, therefore, use a noise filter on the power supply, just like you use filters to remove noise from a signal. To be more precise, a filter consisting of L2 and C3 is an ideal choice. The output voltage of the power supply is being then filtered by the LC filter.

High-frequency noise coming from both the switching frequency and the switching transition frequency is finally attenuated.

3. Install a voltage stabilizer to the power supply unit

As a final resort when there is an irregular power supply issue causing the Print Unable ZC message error, you could try to install a voltage stabilizer to the power supply unit.

There are various types of voltage stabilizers that successfully keep the voltage of a circuit at a specified level, yet keep in mind that integrated circuit voltage stabilizers are among the most reliable choices.

Still experiencing troubles? Fix them with this tool:

Some driver-related issues can be solved faster by using a tailored driver solution. If you’re still having problems with your drivers, simply install OutByte Driver Updater and get it up and running immediately. Thus, let it update all drivers and fix other PC issues in no time!

How To Sync Music From Mac To Iphone And Ipad

Syncing music between iPhone/iPad and Mac is straightforward. With macOS Catalina, Apple removed iTunes, and thus we use Finder to sync music from Mac to iPhone. The process stays easy and fast.

If you are an Apple Music subscriber and have the same Apple ID on your Mac and iPhone, then you do not have to do anything. All your songs, playlists, ratings, etc. are automatically synced to all your Apple devices. The same happens if you are an iTunes Match subscriber.

Note: The tutorial below is for iPhone users who do not use Apple Music. And if you are an Apple Music subscriber, follow the methods only after turning off the option to Sync Library in Apple Music.

We have focused this post entirely on Mac running macOS Catalina. If you are using a prior version of macOS or using Windows, the steps are the same; just that instead of Finder you have to use iTunes.

How to Sync Music from Mac to iPhone or iPad

Remove Existing Music, Films, TV shows and Books from iPhone Sync with Library

At one time, an iOS or iPadOS device, be it iPhone, iPad Touch, or iPad can be synced with only one Finder/iTunes.

So, if you have previously synced your device to some other Mac/PC, then it asks for your permission to remove those content and sync your iPhone/iPad with media from the current Mac. This pop-up also appears if you are using the same Mac but earlier used manual management of music. (explained below)

Please note that this does not delete any photo or video from your Photos app. Also, your other apps and app data are not affected by it.

One solution to save your existing music is to follow our guide on how to transfer music from iPhone to Computer without iTunes. Once you have the existing iPhone songs on your Mac, you can open them in the Music app and then sync everything together.

How to Manually Sync Songs from Mac to iPhone

Drag the two windows (one where your song is and another that has your iPhone) and place them side by side. If needed, place your mouse pointer to one of the corners of the window and decrease the size. You may also enable Split Screen

Now drag music file(s) from one window to anywhere inside the General.

Sync Songs from Mac to iPhone using Music App

For this to work make sure you have enabled Manually manage music, films and TV shows from the Finder. (Steps explained above.)

Open Music app on your Mac and select your connected iPhone from the left sidebar.

Now drag the song from Finder to your iPhone.

How to Sync Music from Mac to iPhone Wirelessly

From now onwards, when your Mac and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network, it will appear in Finder.

You can sync Music wirelessly and also perform other sync options. Making a backup of your device is also possible wirelessly. You only will need to connect it using a cable if you wish to update the iOS or restore your device.

How to Sync Music from Mac to iPhone without Cable using iCloud

If you are an Apple Music subscriber or if you use iTunes Match, you can sync all your music from Mac to iPhone automatically via iCloud. It is effortless.

To make sure that Sync Library with Apple Music is turned on, sign in to your Apple devices with the same Apple ID and follow the steps below.

On iPhone: Open Settings app → Music → Turn on Sync Library.

Do the same on your other Apple devices. Now, all the music you have added or purchased will sync to all your iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS devices.

How Do you Sync Music from Mac to iPhone Using Third-Party Apps

If you like to take a different route, you can use third-party applications to copy music from Mac to your iPhone. Two apps we recommend are:

That’s all, mate!

How To Remotely Erase Data From Lost Iphone And Ipad

Key highlights:

Whether you have lost your iPhone/iPad or just want to factory reset a device that is not with you, remotely wiping all data is the safest option. Because this will protect your sensitive data from malicious parties. So without much ado, let’s see how you can remotely erase all your iPhone and iPad data.

Yes, there are multiple ways to do so; the method will depend on your device settings. You can erase your iPhone remotely via:

How to wipe an iPhone remotely via iCloud

Limitations: The Find My should be enabled on your iPhone and iPad. Otherwise, you won’t be able to complete the following steps.

Note: Once you wipe the iPhone completely, you won’t be able to locate it via Find My. So, only erase a lost device if you’re sure it’s gone.

A fail-safe, self destruct way to erase iPhone data

While not really a trick to remotely erase the iPhone, this is a useful hack to ensure your data doesn’t fall into the wrong hand. You can enable a feature that’ll auto-erase all data after 10 failed passcode attempts.

On your iPhone, open Settings → Touch ID & Passcode or Face ID & Passcode.

Enter the passcode.

Scroll to the bottom and toggle on Erase Data.

Tap Enable to confirm the action.

If someone tries to enter into your iPhone but enters the wrong password 10 times consecutively, the phone will auto-erase all data. Don’t worry; the intruder will still not be able to access your device as the activation lock will still be active (if Find My is active).

Note: If you have a habit of forgetting passwords or kids that attack your device often, this might not be that great a feature.

Remotely erase iPhone via your MDM solution

Limitations: You should either have the password for the Mobile Device Management admin account or have permission to complete the necessary steps.

Some schools and corporates lock their devices with a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. This helps them monitor and control device usage remotely, including completely erasing the iPhone/iPad.

Notably, the steps may vary as per the MDM software/platform you are using, but here’s a generic process.

Log in to the MDM app/browser with the Admin account.

Go to devices to see all monitored devices.

Select the device.

Find the device setting section.

Select the erase device option.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to wipe an iPhone

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is an exchange synchronization protocol allowing users to access an organization’s information from Microsoft Exchange’s server. Furthermore, it optimizes collaborative workflow with high-latency and low-bandwidth networks.

Thankfully, the Exchange ActiveSync also supports remotely wiping and restoring the iPhone or iPad. You can do it from the Exchange Management Console, Outlook Web Access, or the Exchange ActiveSync Mobile Administration Web Tool.

Notably, the process is not that simple, so I suggest contacting the tech support at your office or going through Microsoft’s guide before you proceed.

How To Share Audio With Airpods Or Other Wireless Headphones From Iphone Or Ipad

Thanks to the iOS 13 and iPadOS software updates, you can easily share audio with wireless headphones such as the AirPods earphones or any supported Beats headphones. This lets you and a friend both listen to the same audio from your iOS device, adjust the volume for each person individually, stop sharing with a tap and more. Follow along with us as we explain how to share audio with AirPods and Beats audio devices from your iPhone or iPad.

With audio sharing, users are able to connect two pairs of AirPods or other supported devices to a single iPhone or iPad and listen to the same media at the same time.

You just pair two sets of AirPods or other compatible wireless headphones to one iPhone or iPad to enjoy the same song or movie along with your friend. Gone are the days days of plugging in a headphone splitter so you could listen to music together with a friend!

Of course, you can also share audio with a friend by each wearing a single AirPod, but this trick leaves a lot to be desired because you’re basically splitting stereo channels unless you switch to mono audio in Settings → Accessibility → Mono Audio.

For a far more elegant solution than the above method, continue reading our tutorial to learn how to use two sets of compatible earphones or headphones to share audio with a friend.

Share audio with these wireless headphones

This feature requires an iPhone or iPod touch running the iOS 13.1 update or later. You can also use an iPad powered by the iPadOS 13.1 software and up. To download and install the latest iOS software for your device, go to Settings → General → Software Update. Supported audio devices must be powered by Apple’s W1 or H1 headphone chip.

AirPods and AirPods Pro wireless earphones

Powerbeats Pro wireless earphones

Powerbeats3 wireless earphones

Beats Solo3 wireless headphones

Beats Studio3 wireless headphones

BeatsX wireless earphones

The following iOS device models support the audio sharing feature:

iPhone 8 and later

iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (2nd generation and later)

iPad Pro (11-inch)

iPad Pro (10.5-inch)

iPad (5th generation and later)

iPad Air (3rd generation)

iPad mini (5th generation)

iPod touch

iPod touch (7th generation)

How to share audio with wireless headphones

Follow the steps included right ahead if you’d like to share audio with a friend via supported wireless headphones or earphones from your iPhone or iPad.

1) Bring your AirPods or AirPods Pro close to their paired iPhone or iPad, then open the lid. Your supported earphones or headphones should be connected to your iOS device.

2) Put on your wireless audio device and start playing something, then hit the AirPlay icon in the Now Playing controls within the app you’re currently listening to, on your Lock screen or in Control Center and choose the option Share Audio or Temporarily Share Audio that should appear below the name of your wireless earphones or headphones.

3) Now it’s time to connect the other headphones or earphones to your iOS device. During this process, your friend’s earphones or headphones should be inside their case and your own ones should be connected to your iOS device and you must be wearing them.

AirPods: Ask a friend to hold their other AirPods or AirPods Pro close to your iPhone or iPad. Their AirPods must be inside the charging case and the lid must be opened.

Beats Studio3 or Solo3: Your friend is required to press the power button on their headphones for less than one second while holding them close to your iOS device.

Other wireless headphones: The other person should put their wireless headphones in pairing mode and hold them close to your iOS device.

Is your friend already wearing earphones or headphones connected to their own iOS device?

If so, and their audio device is not in its charging case, simply bring your iOS own device close to theirs and tap Share Audio or Temporarily Share Audio on your device, then ask your friend to tap the option Join that will appear on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

4) As soon as your friend’s wireless headphones or earphones appear on the screen of your iOS device, tap the option Share Audio or Temporarily Share Audio on your iPhone or iPad and follow the onscreen instructions to complete your audio sharing session.

And that’s it!

Now when you play some music, start a movie or launch an app on your device, iOS will automatically send audio wirelessly to both sets of connected audio devices so that both you and your friend can listen to the same thing playing on your iPhone or iPad.

Continue reading this tutorial if you’d like to learn how you can separately control the volume of each set of earphones or headphones, control audio and stop your sharing session.

How to control audio

The same audio controls you’ve grown accustomed to are being used to change the volume and play, pause and stop shared audio — there’s no learning curve involved at all. You can adjust the volume during an audio sharing session for both audio devices at once or separately for each set of connected earphones or headphones.

Control the volume of both headphones

Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPad, touch and hold or press and hold the volume control and drag the volume slider for either set of headphones or earphones.

Yup, it’s that easy.

Separately control the volume of each set of audio devices

You can also independently control the volume. On your iOS device, invoke Control Center and touch and hold or press and hold the volume slider. Notice a pair of volume sliders, as opposed to a single slider you’re accustomed to seeing. Now all you need to do is drag these separate volume sliders in order to independently adjust the volume levels for each set of wireless earphones or headphones.

These dual volume sliders also appear in Control Center, on your Lock screen (when audio is playing) and in other places where iOS’s Now Playing controls are available. Plus, each user can separately control the audio with the hardware controls on their audio device.

How to stop sharing audio

To stop the current audio sharing session so you and your friend can both listen to the music from their own iPhone or iPad, simply tap the AirPlay icon on the Lock screen of your iOS device, in Control Center or in the app you’re listening to, then hit the checkmark next to the name of your friend’s audio device in order to turn off shared connection.

Doing so will instantly disconnect the second set of headphones or earphones immediately.
