Suggested March 2024 Poeltl Unlimited: How To Play Poeltl More Than Once
Anyone who has played Poeltl before can attest to the fact that it is an extremely esoteric game that is brutally cold to a player who has little understanding of the NBA league inside out. But, if you are an ardent fan with a deep understanding of the nuances of the league, then the actual difficulty involved is the main incentive that propels you to play the game.
If you haven’t caught on yet, Poeltl is a wordle variant for NBA fans that comes as a daily challenge for players to figure out the mystery NBA player of the day in 8 attempts. It is addictive enough that soon you’d be craving for more than one allotted daily challenge. But, is there a way to play Poeltl unlimited, though? Let’s find out.
Poeltl Unlimited: How to Play Poeltl Without Limit
Poeltl, as it is, is limited to one game per day. Once the game resets, you cannot play a previous game on the live game website either. Although the Wordle variant is widely popular among NBA enthusiasts, it still hasn’t manage to gain clone of its own that let you play more than once a day.
As established above, you cannot play more than once a day on a browser; however, if you want to replay a game when run out of chances, you can 4 options before you:
Method 1: Replay a game in an incognito window.
You can repeat the same game (a challenge on a given day) as many times as it takes to figure it out on your own if you play on the incognito window of your browser. Make sure to close the window completely and start on a new incognito after each game to make it work.
Method 2: Replay in a different browser
An alternative way to replay a Poelt is by using different browsers. Since you can take a challenge (win or lose) only once a day on a browser, migrate to a different browser to continue the quest for the answer. This option, again, is only to replay the same challenge on a given date and not start a new challenge.
Method 3: Play on a different device
The restriction of one game per day makes it so that you can only take a challenge once on a browser. For example, you can retake the same Poeltl challenge on a given date if you attempt to play on a different device like a mobile phone, tablet or computer.
Method 4: Play older games
Another way to play more than one day a game is retaking older Poeltl challenges.
Simply visit this link to find how to play old Poeltl games.
Although there is no official Poeltl archive that will serve to this end, you can still play older Poeltl games if you resort to the following options:
changing the system date on your computer to a previous date,
changing the system date on your phone to a previous date, or
going to a Poeltl challenge through Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.
Related: Poeltl Archive: How to Play Old Poeltl Games
None of the methods above will give you an unlimited supply of Poeltl games, nor are the challenges new and untried. In a nutshell, the only way at present to play unlimited Poeltl games is by retaking a daily challenge or replaying the previous challenges.

When you think about Jaime Escalante, think about this: Passing Advanced Placement exams is an uphill battle for most students, but for African American and Latino high school kids it can feel like pushing a big rock up that hill. Even though more students are taking the exams, the pass rate is declining. Just 16.7 % of African American students and 41.3 % of Hispanic students scored well enough to earn college credit on the two AP calculus tests given last year. Versus more than 69% for white students.
These numbers make Jaime Escalante’s feat at Los Angeles’s Garfield High School even more awe-inspiring. The legendary calculus teacher, immortalized in the film, Stand and Deliver, died on March 30th after battling cancer. He was 79.
Escalante took a class of predominantly Latino, inner-city students, whom others said couldn’t learn, and taught them to master calculus. He did so well, that in 1982 every student in his class nailed AP Calculus, nearly half with a perfect score.
That led to a much-publicized scandal where the College Board suspected cheating, invalidated the results, and made the students re-take the test. There were hard feelings and not all the students took it again, but those who did, all passed the second time around.
How did he do it? “He wouldn’t budge on his expectations,” said Thomas Valdez, who had Escalante for math class from 1989 through 1991. Valdez, now a senior member of the engineering staff at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, describes himself as one of Escalante’s weakest students. “That poor man, I really put him through a lot.”
Valdez has had many math and science teachers since high school – he’s about to earn his Ph.D. – and says he’s still blown away by all that Escalante accomplished. “My calculus classes in college were a joke compared to what I had gone through with him.”
Valdez visited his mentor in the hospital a few weeks ago, and says he told Escalante how grateful he is that “even when he had a hard case like me, he stuck with me.” He laughs and says it’s no exaggeration. ” He basically was just there at my side every minute.”
His toughness didn’t always sit well with fellow teachers, especially when he supported California’s Proposition 227, the 1998 ballot measure that banned most bilingual education programs. He left Garfield High amidst some ill will. But there’s no question that his methods worked. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan issued a statement praising Escalante’s doggedness. “His life provides yet one more reminder of the many teachers who work zealously every day to open the minds and doors of opportunity for students.”

A good framed photo hanging on your wall is worth 50,000 shots sitting in the cloud doing nothing. They can remind you of your friends and family members, great times, and who you used to be in the good ol’ days, while digital photos just bit-rot away on a hard drive. But if you haven’t printed and framed a photo in a while—or ever—you might have forgotten how to get it right.
That photo you like so much and looks great on your screen might be dull, lifeless, and even blurry on paper. There are a lot of variables to juggle if you want to make it pop and look as good as it does on screen, so let us help you get them all right.Consider your printer
A harsh truth: not all printers can print photos, and even those that can might not do a good job. That laser printer sitting in your home office sure is great for churning out black and white tax forms, but it just won’t cut it for high-quality color photos.
Basic home inkjets can print good-looking photos, but they won’t be perfect. These printers only use four ink colors—cyan, magenta, yellow, and black—so they can’t produce particularly photorealistic prints. You’ll lose details in the shadows and highlights, and get some banding or inaccuracies in the gradual transitions between colors.
Inkjet printers designed specifically for printing photos, on the other hand, have somewhere between six and nine inks. For example, the Epson SureColor P700 adds light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, photo black, matte black, light black, and light light black to the basic four inkjet colors. This means it can accurately print realistic photos that are good enough to sell or hang on a gallery wall.
How much this all matters is up to you. If you just want to print out some nice family photos you shot on your iPhone, then your all-in-one, four-color inkjet will likely be well up to the task. But if you have aspirations of making a living off your vivid landscape prints, or you just want to have your best shots featured in your living room, you’ll need something that will do a more accurate and detailed job.Stock up on photo paper
Glossy paper will make those colors pop. In photos like this one, with low contrast, it really makes a difference. Joshua Fuller on Unsplash
Standard letter paper, like you’d find in an office, is only good for documents. For great photos, you’ll need great paper.
The photo you want to print will determine the kind of paper you’ll use. There are three broad categories of photo paper available: gloss, semi-gloss, and matte. Gloss paper is the standard, shiny photo paper—it’s great for vibrant, colorful images. Semi-gloss paper is slightly less glossy and is excellent for portraits, family photos, and images where you don’t want super-saturated colors. Matte paper has no shine, so it’s best for black and white photos and other high-contrast, moody works.
Once you know what kind of paper you’ll use, you’ll need to decide what size your prints will be and get the right sized paper for the job. Most home inkjet printers can print photos at 4 by 6 inches, 5 by 7 inches, and 8 by 10 inches (all standard photo sizes), as well as 8.5 by 11 inches (which is U.S. Letter size).
Also, paper quality is measured in weight per ream of 500 sheets—the thicker the paper, the heavier it is. That also means it’s better quality, and therefore, more expensive. Good photo paper is normally somewhere between 50 and 80 pounds per ream, so if you’re experimenting, the lower end of the range is a good place to start.Grab the right ICC profiles
Different printers and papers interact in different ways you’ll need to use ICC profiles to get the best results. Developed by the International Color Consortium, these are downloadable files that tell your computer what proportion of ink to use to get your printout as close to the image on your screen as possible. High-quality paper manufacturers release these files so users can get consistent results with their individual papers and all major printer brands.
Here’s how to find the ICC profiles for the paper you’re using:
Check the packaging your photo paper came in for a URL or instructions on how to download ICC profiles.
Visit the paper manufacturer’s website and look around for an ICC profiles section.
Search for the name of the paper manufacturer and “ICC profiles” to go straight to the page.
If you’re using paper from the same manufacturer as your printer (say, Canon paper with a Canon printer), they might already be installed. Check to see if any of the print presets match the paper you’re using. If they’re there, you’ll also see them when you go to select one later on.
To print with an ICC profile, you’ll need to use Photoshop, Lightroom, or an equivalent photo editing app that supports them. In Photoshop, when you print, under Color Management, select Photoshop Manages Colors for Color Handling and choose the correct ICC profile. In Lightroom, in the Print module, select the appropriate ICC profile for Profile from the Print Job options in the right-hand sidebar.Ready your photo
Yes, Photoshop can be intimidating if you’re a newbie, but basic tweaking is easy and goes a long way. João Silas on Unsplash
What looks good on screen doesn’t always translate to a great print, so there are some preliminary edits you should make to get the best results. I recommend using Lightroom Classic, but Photoshop or any other image editor will do.
First, check the resolution of the file you want to print. For high-quality photos, you’ll want to print at 300 dots per inch (DPI) or higher. For a 6-by-4-inch print, this means you’ll need a minimum image resolution of 1,800 by 1,200 pixels; and for an 11-by-8.5-inch print, it’s 3,300 by 2,550 pixels.
Photos from any smartphone with a 12 megapixel camera (like recent iPhones and Google Pixel phones) will be 4,032 by 3,024 pixels by default, which is more than enough resolution to get great prints. However, photos downloaded from Facebook or Instagram won’t, since they’re automatically compressed when uploaded. If you want good results, you’ll need to work with the original files.
In Lightroom, you can find the image resolution in the Metadata tab of the Library Module. In Photoshop, go to File and then File Info.
Once you’ve made sure you have a high-quality file, follow these steps:
After making your adjustments, use the proper paper to create a test print. This is an important part of the process, since you rarely get everything right the first time. It’s a great opportunity to see if you need to make any further edits to your image, and make sure you’ve got the correct size, paper option, and quality selected.
Check for things like:
The overall brightness of the image.
The contrast between shadows and highlights.
Whether the colors are saturated enough (or too saturated).
If there is a color cast (an unwanted tint to the whole photo) or any other problems with the colors.
That the details are sharp.
If there are any issues—and there almost always is something—go back, fix it, and make another test print. Repeat the process until you’re satisfied.Print the final version
With everything dialed in, print the final version of your photo and let it sit for an entire day. This may sound exaggerated, but there’s a good reason for it: You risk smudging even quick-drying inks if you touch your photo too soon. Also, solvents in the ink can take up to 24 hours to completely evaporate, so unless you want gasses leaving a haze on the glass of the frame, be patient and put off the next steps for tomorrow.Frame your photo
Look at that—your shot in all its glory. Naomi Hébert on Unsplash
Frames not only protect photos but make them look better on the wall. If you’ve gone through all this trouble and effort to print a photo, don’t just stick it to your fridge with a magnet—frame it properly.
While you can easily buy new frames, a good way to get great ones on the cheap is to visit charity shops or thrift stores. Ignore whatever artwork is in it and focus on searching for a frame that will look good in your home and fit the photo you’re printing. You can get higher-quality frames for a lot less secondhand than you would buying them new.
If you want your photos to look like works of art, look for a frame with a “mat.” This is the (usually white) cardboard that surrounds photos and separates them from the border of the frame in most artistic prints. A mat will make all your photos look super classy and stand out on the wall.
Finally, when framing your photo, be careful with handling the print and the frame glass. Pick them up by touching only the edges—you don’t want oily fingerprints or hair to stick to either.
Once you’re done, hang your photo on the wall and enjoy your guests’ admiring stares.Other tips for getting great results
As with everything, practice makes perfect, so the more photos you print, the better you’ll get at it. While you learn, here are a three extra tips to keep in mind:
Spirit is still stuck in the sand, and Opportunity’s future beyond Mars’ next solstice is unclear, but the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter continues to beam back groundbreaking images from high above the Red Planet. Using images taken from NASA’s MRO, researchers at Imperial and University Colleges London have determined that water-filled lakes existed on the Martian surface 800 million years later than previously thought.
Researchers have long thought Mars once sustained water on its surface, and discoveries by Spirit and Opportunity bolstered the idea, but astronomers generally agreed that between 4 billion and 3.8 billion years ago most of the Martian atmosphere vanished, rendering the surface cold and dry. This ushered in what’s known as the Hesperian Epoch, a period once thought too dry and cold to sustain liquid water at the surface.
But after studying some flat depressions above Ares Vallais, a giant canyon stretching some 1,250 miles along the Martian equator, researchers discovered what looked like drainage channels connecting them. Previous attempts to determine the origin of these depressions proved fruitless, but researchers theorized that nearby depressions were caused by sublimation, in which ice in the ground had changed directly into water vapor without passing to a liquid state. The evaporation of said ice would allow the soil to cave in, creating depressions.
The discovery of the interconnecting channels raises strong evidence for a new hypothesis: the depressions were not simply ice deposits bankrupted by sublimation, but lakes of liquid water, the channels running in between them resulting from periods when melting ice caused their banks to overrun. Counting crater impacts around the lakes, scientists then determined that they were about 3 billion years old, existing a full 800 million years after the Hesperian Epoch began.
Determining that Mars’ liquid-water heyday was still a good 3 billion years ago doesn’t shake what we know about our galaxy right to the core. But it does potentially correct a 1-billion-year accounting error in the Martian timeline and could dictate some good landing zones for future rover missions as well as alter the way we go about seeking former life forms on out big red neighbor. It also gives us a good excuse to collect some sweet aerial shots of the Martian surface into a gallery, which you can view here.
Scientists long thought these depressions where caused by surface ice that sublimated into vapor when much of Mars’ atmosphere disappeared around 4 billion years ago. But note the tiny depression connecting the lower right of the center depression to the top of its neighbor to the southeast; researchers now believe liquid water carved channels like this some 800 million years after liquid water was thought to be unsustainable there.
More Martian Lakes
A second close-up of a Martian crater shows another lake that also appears to have burst its banks, allowing liquid water to flow across the Martian surface hundreds of millions of years after liquid water was thought to have ceased existing there.
Martian Lake, Annotated
This super close-up image offers some scale and clearly points out the channel where researchers think water flowed billions of years ago.
Topography of a Martian Lakebed
This topographic rendering of a Martian lakebed shows how the channels developed as water flowed from shallower to deeper depressions, bolstering the idea that it was indeed liquid that carved them into the planet’s surface.
Google CES Announcement More Than Google Cube?
So as you’ve already probably heard, Google is supposed to make some sort of announcement on a consumer based application at the next Consumer Electronics Show in Law Vegas in a couple days. Some have speculated that Google will announce its own “Google Cube†which runs a modified version of Linux.
When I first heard that Larry Page, one of the founders of Google, was going to give a keynote speech at the CES this year I was a little surprised. After all, the show is CONSUMER electronics which Google doesn’t have. Sure Google itself is a consumer based product, but they don’t offer electronics.
This of course led to speculation about what Google could be premiering at the show. After all, if a founder of Google is giving a keynote speech at a consumer electronics show he must be promoting or debuting some form of consumer electronics right?
So then, of course the first thing everyone thought was “Google Computer†which kinda makes sense. There’s been rumblings of a Google OS for months, if not years now – a customized version of Linux which also includes all Google’s existing software products.
But today Google squashed that rumor like a bug. No Google computers and no deal to sell them via WalMart.
And really, it makes sense. Google hasn’t yet supported Linux in any of its apps, so why would it secretly build them now? I mean, Google is famous for beta testing the heck out of everything. Do we really think they’d release a bunch of Linux applications on a Linux computer without beta tests?
So if not a computer, what then?
But again I find this implausible. Google will not sell any such unit that hasn’t been fully tested yet. And since I’ve never heard of such a unit, or even the software being available to test, I don’t think we’ll see it in the near future.
Really, the whole idea of a Google OS powered system of any kind is out there. While Google could have aspirations for such a system, I see little movement by Google in this direction. After all, one would think that if Google were to release a *nix based system they’d already have some software that would run on the system and that just isn’t the case (trust me, I know as I use Linux at home and have been anxiously waiting for Google to release Linux products).
So what else could there be?
Again, a good idea, but again, I doubt this is the case.
Because again, this is a product that Google hasn’t tested. They don’t have a way to process payments, so I would expect before any big announcement like this they would again want to beta test the heck out of a payment processing system before making a worldwide announcement. After all, look what happened to Google Analytics when it became freely available.
So what will Google announce?
Well, I think it will be much more low key and actually be an announcement they’ve already made (in a way).
I think they will announce their partnership with Lexar and the ability to offer Google apps via the popular USB flash drive.
At the same time, however, I think they will also announce that they will expand the current product offerings by the end of the year to include such applications as a portable desktop application, web browser and more.
And really, these wouldn’t be a stretch for Google. Others have already developed portable desktop applications such as Firefox, GAIM an IM client, NVU a web page editor, very similar to Microsoft FrontPage, and even Open Office. Even easier is a complete Portable Suite containing all these and more.
Will Google debut a new “Google Cube?†Not likely. How about PPV video? My feeling is not.
But there are other possibilities. Including merely pushing existing consumer products, like Google Desktop, Google Earth and even Gmail. These are all consumer products which have been tested.
In any case, Friday will be an interesting day for Google watchers.
