Here Are 11 Ways To Fix It

Apple’s iWatch, also formally known as Apple Watch, is an impressive smartwatch that can do much more than just display time or track your fitness. Like any other Apple device, you should update it for bug fixes and stable performance.

You will miss out on the new features and security updates when you cannot update the latest version. Sadly, many users who use Apple Watch Series 3 or below have faced this issue frequently.

It can happen due to the watch incompatibility. Besides that, minor bugs and other reasons can also hinder updating. Fortunately, there are easy ways to fix these issues.

Why is Apple Watch Not Updating?

There can be various reasons behind this issue. Here, in this part, you will find common reasons that might cause your Apple Watch to prevent updating.

You haven’t updated your iPhone to the latest iOS version.

Your Apple Watch is below 50% or hasn’t connected to the charger.

Your Apple Watch doesn’t have enough Storage.

You quit the Watch app while updating.

Your Watch has some bugs.

How to Fix My Apple Watch Not Updating

Now you have an idea why your Apple Watch is not updating. So, let’s see what you should do to fix it as soon as possible.

Make Sure Your Apple Watch is Compatible

The first thing that matters is compatibility. Apple will only push new software updates every few years on their Apple Watch. If you are using an old apple watch, you won’t get any new updates due to the hardware limitations to run the latest software.

However, if you have the latest Apple Watch and can’t update it, you should go for other solutions mentioned below.

Check Your Device Connectivity

The other thing you should be aware of is a stable internet connection. If you are trying to update your Apple watch via iPhone, it must be connected to the internet and Bluetooth. You can’t update the Apple watch if it fails to meet those requirements.

You can see the tiny mobile or Wi-Fi icon if it is connected through your iPhone or the internet. Therefore, check your connectivity and try again.

Plug the Charger

If your Apple Watch battery is below 50%, it may be unable to update and shows an error. To fix that, your Apple watch battery must be above 50%, or the best thing you can do is connect the charger while updating your Watch.

Updating your Apple Watch takes time. Apple has set such an algorithm because updating consumes more battery, and they don’t want your Watch to run out of battery in the middle while updating, which can harm your watch software. Also, leave your apple watch in a cool place, as it can generate heat while updating and charging simultaneously.

Keep iPhone Closer To Your Watch

If you are updating via iPhone, your Apple Watch must be closer to it. If any of your devices are out of range, they won’t be able to update. Therefore, Keep your iPhone and watch together. However, having an iPhone to update your Apple Watch is not compulsory. You can directly update your Apple watch. But, you must have an internet connection. Otherwise, you can’t update it.

Ensure You Have Enough Storage on Apple Watch

You won’t be able to update if you don’t have enough storage on your Apple Watch. The minor update requires a hundred MBs of free Storage, while if there’s a major update, you need GBs of free space. So, check your Watch storage and delete the unnecessary files.

To Check Your Watch Storage From Your iPhone:

To Check Your Storage From the Apple Watch:

Turn Off Unlock With iPhone

If you have enabled the Unlock with iPhone feature on your Watch app, it may not give the green light to update your Apple Watch. So, disable this feature and try again. Once you complete this process, turn on Unlock with the iPhone back.

To turn off this feature, you can follow the below steps:

Unpair Your Apple Watch and Try Again

You may also be unable to update your Apple Watch if it has minor glitches. You can unpair your Watch and iPhone to fix such bugs. Do it by keeping your Apple Watch and iPhone together.

To Unpair:

To Pair Your iPhone to Apple Watch:

Do Not Quit the Watch App While Downloading

While updating your Apple Watch through the iPhone, it’s important not to close the Watch App. Mistakenly closing the app while downloading or updating can interrupt the flow. If you are doing such a thing, your Apple Watch update might fail in the middle.

Therefore, leave your device free until the update is completed. If your update is stuck in the middle and didn’t update in that case, you should force close the app, restart the devices and try again.

Restart Your iPhone and Apple Watch

Sometimes your device’s glitches can also hinder updates. To easily fix that, you can restart both your devices. When you reboot, it clears unnecessary data from your background and forces it to start fresh in the memory. Hence, it can work in most cases. So, you should also try doing it once.

To Force Restart Your iPhone:

Quickly press and release the Volume Up, and do the same for Volume Down. Then, press and hold the Side button for 25-30 seconds until the screen goes off.

Once the screen goes off, Keep on holding.

To Restart Your Apple Watch:

Press and hold the side button until the power menu slider pops up.

Slide right to power off.

Once the screen goes off, leave it for 15-20 seconds.

Now, to turn it on. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

Update Your iPhone

If you are running on the older version of the iOS, you may be unable to update the Apple Watch. Apple has stated you need to have the latest iOS version to be able to download on your Watch. Updating can also fix the previous bugs. So, update it and check if you might be able to download and update your Apple Watch.

Discord Mic Not Working In Windows 11? Here Are 15 Ways To Fix It

Discord is a popular VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communication platform for gamers and streamers, but due to various reasons, it can sometimes have issues with its mic not working. The error may occur during normal audio/video calls or during live streaming.

In this article, we’ll walk you through some of the steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix Discord mic not working issue in Windows 11. We will also provide some tips on how to prevent the problem from happening again in the future. Let’s get started!

Why Is the Microphone Not Working in Discord on Windows 11?

There are various reasons why your Discord mic may not be working in Windows 11. These include:

Defective hardware – It’s possible that the microphone itself or its connection to your computer is defective, resulting in no audio being picked up.

Incorrect settings – If you haven’t configured the correct audio settings on your computer, then Discord may not be able to access the microphone correctly.

Misconfigured microphone drivers – If your microphone driver is outdated or misconfigured, then it might be causing an issue with Discord’s mic.

Software conflicts – If you have any other software running in the background that is conflicting with the microphone, then it could be preventing the mic from functioning properly with Discord.

Fix Discord Mic Not Working in Windows 11

Now that you know some of the possible causes of the issue, let’s look at how to fix it.

1. Check if Your Microphone Is Working

The first thing you should do is check that your microphone is working properly. This includes checking if the physical connection to your computer is in good condition and that the microphone itself isn’t defective.

You can also test the microphone by speaking into it while using a voice recorder app or a built-in recording program on your computer. If you can hear yourself, then the microphone is working properly.

2. Check the Microphone Connection With Windows

Next, you need to check if your Windows 11 system is detecting the microphone or not. Here is how to do that:

2. Remain on the System tab on the left pane, and select Sound on the right.

3. Scroll down and check if your Microphone is listed and selected under “Input.”

If you cannot find the microphone listed, there might be an issue with its physical connection to your computer.

3. Change the Input Volume on Windows 11

If your microphone is detected by Windows 11, it might be possible that the microphone input volume is too low. In this case, you may need to adjust the input volume on your Windows 11 system. To do so:

2. Remain on the System tab on the left pane, and select Sound on the right.

3. Scroll down to the “Input” options and select the Microphone that you are currently using.

4. On the next window, look for the “Input settings.” Under it, use the slider to increase the input volume.

If you can see the microphone listed in Windows 11 settings, then it’s possible that the issue is caused by outdated or misconfigured driver software. You’ll need to update your drivers to fix this problem. To update your microphone drivers, you can use the Device Manager in Windows 11. Here is how to do that:

3. Select Update driver from the menu that appears.

4. Follow the instructions to update the driver software for your microphone.

Once you have updated your drivers, check if Discord is able to access your microphone correctly or not.

5. Check if Discord Has Access to the Microphone

If you have updated the microphone driver and the problem persists, ensure Discord has access to the microphone. Here is how to do that:

2. Switch to the Privacy & security tab on the left, and on the right, scroll down to select the Microphone option under “App permissions.”

3. Under the “Microphone” permissions, scroll down and check if Discord can access the Microphone.

6. Disable Exclusive Mode for Microphone

Another reason why your microphone might not be working with Discord is that it’s in exclusive mode. This basically means that any other app will not be able to access the microphone when it’s in this state. This is how to disable the exclusive mode for the microphone:

4. Under the device properties window, switch to the Advanced tab and disable the Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

This will make the microphone available to other apps, including Discord.

7. Run the Microphone Troubleshooter

Windows 11 comes with a built-in troubleshooting tool that can help you identify and fix any microphone-related issues. To run the microphone troubleshooter, follow these steps:

2. Remain on the System tab on the left pane, and select Troubleshoot on the right.

3. On the next window, choose the Other troubleshooters option.

8. Run Discord App with Administrator Rights

If the steps discussed above didn’t help, try running Discord with administrator rights. This might fix any permission-related conflicts preventing your microphone from working properly. Here is how to do it:

3. Now try relaunching Discord to check if your microphone is working correctly now or not.

9. Manually Set the Microphone on Discord

Generally, Discord automatically detects any external mic or speaker input, but in some cases, it will keep using the system mic, and you may need to manually set your microphone on the app. To manually select your Mic, follow these steps:

1. Launch Discord App

3. Check if the microphone works now.

10. Increase Input Volume in Discord

If the above solutions still don’t help, it is possible that the Microphone’s input volume is too low on Discordtry increasing your microphone’s input volume in Discord. To do that:

1. Launch Discord App

3. Under the Voice Settings, you will find the option to increase the Input Volume below the “INPUT DEVICE” option.

4. Make sure to move the volume slider to 100% so that the other people can hear you clearly.

6. Check if the mic is working properly and adjust the input volume accordingly.

11. Change the Input Mode in Discord

If you regularly use Discord, you might know that it has two inputs method: Voice Activity and Push to Talk. If the input method is set to Push to Talk, then you need to push the button every time you need to speak. So, if you want the mic to work without any disruption, set the input method to Voice Activity. Follow these steps to do that:

1. Launch Discord App

3. Under the Voice Settings, look for the INPUT MODE heading and change the input mode to Voice Activity.

If the problem persists, there might be an issue with the Discord app. In this scenario, the best thing to do is to update the app. This will fix any glitches it has. To update the Discord app, follow these steps:

1. Press the “Windows + R” keyboard combination to launch the Run Command Box.

2. Use the following command to launch the AppData local directory: %localappdata%

4. Run the Update file under the Discord folder. It will automatically check for the latest Discord updates and begin updating the Discord.

13. Reset Voice Settings in Discord

If the above methods still don’t help, try resetting your voice settings in Discord. This will set all your Voice and Input/Output settings to their default values and can potentially solve any mic-related issues you are facing. To do that:

1. Launch Discord App

This will reset all your voice settings and fix any mic-related issues you are facing.

14. Re-Install the Discord App

If none of the above methods work, try reinstalling your Discord app. This will uninstall the current version of Discord and install a fresh one. Follow these steps to do that:

1. Press the “Windows + R” keyboard combination to launch the Run command box.

2. Type “ chúng tôi ” in the command box and press Enter. This will launch the “Programs and Features” window.

4. Once done, restart your PC

5. Finally, download the latest version of Discord from their official website and install it again.

This should fix any major issues related to Discord not working with a Mic.

Finally, if nothing works, the last resort is to update your Windows 11. Sometimes, older versions of Windows might not be compatible with new Discord updates, and this can cause Mic issues. To update windows 11, follow these steps:

3. Windows will now check for available updates and download them.

Restart the system and check if the problem is solved.

Prevent Microphone Not Working in Discord Issue on Windows 11

Here are some quick tips you can follow to avoid any microphone-related issues on Windows 11:

Keep your system and Discord App updated.

Use the latest version of Discord for better compatibility.

Make sure that all the audio settings are set appropriately in both Windows and Discord.

Set the input method to Voice Activity in Discord so that the microphone is always active.

Update: Here Are 11 Phones With Larger Than 3500Mah Battery

Each year the Chinese phone industry has collectively focussed on improving one area of phone technology. This year it seems like everyone had a go at improving battery life and charge times.

We have put together a list of the most up to date large battery Chinese smartphones that are available now or within the next few weeks.

Homtom HT6

Most phones from Homtom have larger than average battery packs, but the Homtom HT6 has something huge inside. This 5.5-inch phone boasts a 6250mAh battery pack for a claimed battery life of 7 days or 72 hours of talk time.

Homtom haven’t just shoehorned a large battery in to a phone and hoped for the best, they have also chosen very efficient hardware to make the most of the big battery.

Homtom HT5

The Homtom HT6 is the battery flagship of the Homtom range, but that large battery comes in a 5.5-inch body that might be too large for some people to be happy with carrying around, so what about the 5-inch HT5?

The Homtom HT5 comes with a 4250mAh battery pack for 5 days of use or 60hours of talk time. A 5-inch HD display offers the same resolution but greater pixel density to the HT6, and the phone packs HotKnot file transfer protocol too.

A wood look rear panel is removable and gives access to the user replaceable battery back, dual SIM slots and micro SD card tray. The whole phone is built around a solid metal chassis for strength and there is even a Corning Gorilla Glass panel across the screen for added security.

Blackview BV5000

The Blackview BV5000 was one of the surprise phones for us this year. This is a rugged Android smartphone with large 5000mAh battery designed for use in all walks off life. You can read our full Blackview BV5000 review here, but to some it all up we were impressed by the honest specs and high quality of the BV500’s build.

The attention to detail really sticks with you with the Blackview BV5000 coming with a rugged metal and rubber body, a removable rear that is screwed in to place and a heavy-duty rubber seal to prevent water ingress. Overall the performance and value of the BV5000 is great, and OTA updates are a true bonus.

Oukitel K4000

The Oukitel K4000 packs a 4000mAh battery as it name suggests, but the phone is designed to offer a little more in the way of style and durability than its competition. The K4000 is built on a magnesium alloy chassis and has a tough screen that can withstand hammer blows.

According to Oukitel the K4000 is good for 5 days of normal use or 2.5 days of heavy usage. A fully charged battery should also see the phone good for 72 hours of talk time or 20 days of standby.

Oukitel K6000

The bigger brother of the Oukitel K4000 is the K6000 boasting a more stylish design, larger 5.5-inch display and very large 6000mAh battery. Again the hardware has been optimised to make the most from the 6000mAh battery pack with the processor being a Mediatek quad-core unit running at only 1.0Ghz.

Elephone Vowney

Gizchina News of the week

Join GizChina on Telegram

We might be getting just as fed up with the Vowney launch as you are, but the phone is finally on pre-order and it does meet the large battery criteria for our list. The Vowney comes in two versions, the Lite model with 1080 display and flagship with 2K panel.

Overall specifications are very similar with both variants sporting a powerful Mediatek chipset, 21 mega-pixel rear camera, and rear fingerprint scanner. Looking at the specs I would probably opt for the FHD model as performance is likely to be slightly better and the 4000mAh battery pack in phone should last a little longer.

ZUK Z1

The ZUK Z1 differs from most of the other phones on the list being a Snapdragon powered phone, but also because it is a device from a start up. The ZUK Z1 is designed to be a high performance gaming and video consumption device, and as such ZUK build the Z1 with a large 4000mAh battery and powerful Snapdragon 801 plus 3GB RAM combo.

Other than that large battery other highlights of the ZUK Z1 include official Cyanogen OS ROM support, USB Type C, fingerprint scanner, 5.5-inch FHD display and surprisingly good audio quality.

Lenovo Vibe X3

Lenovo only just announced the Vibe X3 in China this week, but the phone will be shipping form the 25th November and comes with a host of neat features. Like the ZUK Z1 the Lenovo Vibe X3 comes with a Snapdragon chipset, but this time a more modern Snapdragon 808. The phone has one of the smallest battery of our list with ‘just’ a 3600mAh cell, but with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 fast charge system.

The Vibe X3 is an audio centric devices with dual front speakers, high-end audio processors and Dolby Atmos. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear, and top of the range models have a 21 mega-pixel main camera.

Ulefone Power

We spoke to Ulefone about including the Ulefone Power in this list as we weren’t sure when the phone would finally be available. The current situation is the Power has had a few design and material changes to the rear of the phone and is now scheduled for a December release date.

Ulefone have been quiet about the hardware of the Ulefone Power for a while but we believe the phone will ship with a 6000mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and up to 3GB RAM. Other details include a 13 mega-pixel main camera, 5 mega-pixel front and a 5.5-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 display.

Gionee Elife E8

The Gionee Elife E8 launched months back, but recently went on sale in India and is also available under the BLU name in the U.S. The 6-inch 2K phone runs a Mediatek Helio X10 chipset and 24 mega-pixel rear camera that can take photos of up to 120 mega-pixel.

Despite the large 6-inch 2K panel and powerful chip, the Gionee Elife E8 has the smallest battery in our list at 3520mAh, still this is quite a large battery in the grand scheme of things and should ensure pretty decent battery life.

VK World’s entrant in to the top list of large battery phones is the VK6050. I’m sure it doesn’t take much to work out the battery size of this phone is 6050mAh. Like the HomTom and Oukitel phones, the VK6050S has a 1.0Ghz Quad-core processor, driving a 5.5-inch HD display and Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Interestingly the VK looks like the K4000 and HT5, but with a larger 5.5-inch display on the front instead.

VK have also include a 13 mega-pixel F2.0 aperture rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front and Hotknot file sharing features.

Windows Update Not Working? Here’s How To Fix It

Windows is notorious for update-related issues, so don’t worry if you’ve encountered one.

Most Windows update issues can be due to causes, like corrupted system files, wrongly-configured settings or in some instances – hardware issues. To solve this issue, you can either run troubleshooters or adjust some settings.

But since Windows updates are vital for ensuring that system security and stability are not compromised, we need to keep the updates in check. This guide will show you the top reasons why Windows update is not working, how to fix it and how to prevent it from ever disturbing you in the future.

Insufficient hard disk: Space is the most straightforward but often overlooked. Many times, especially on laptops, users will fill 80-90% of their primary hard drives. Insufficient space will prevent the full update from downloading or installing.

Corrupted system: Files can become corrupted for many reasons—bad sectors on hard drivers, viruses, system errors, RAM issues, and more. If any of the files related to patching and applying updates are gone, it will prevent the newest update from installing.

Wrongly configured update settings: Windows allow users full access to adjusting when and how an update happens. If a setting blocks access to Windows updates, it will simply not work correctly when trying to apply a new update.

Outdated drivers: Driver issues are often rooted in half of the computer-related problems. If your drivers are not updated, this can cause system incompatibility and instability when installing a new Windows update.

Antivirus blocking access to the internet: Some antivirus software can automatically block updates from the internet, even if their source of origin is your very own operating system.

Your windows date and time are not synchronized: Windows takes important data input based on the date you have set. Having the wrong date set can make Windows think you don’t need an update or that it’s not the right time to install it.

The main update issues that you will encounter are in the following categories:

You get an error message during or after the update.

The installation gets stuck on a certain percentage and wont load any further.

In rare cases, the installation will appear as applied, but the actual windows will still be using a different version instead.

update issues.

Before you start troubleshooting any Windows 10 update, make sure you’ve checked the basic aspects, like full access to the internet and a stable power source.

You must have administrator rights on your user profile for updates to be permitted. To check if you are logged in as the administrator, check if the word (guest) is listed below your user account in the login screen. With these out of the way, let’s jump into the fixes for not working updates.

Before installing any update, make sure you have enough space left on your primary hard drive. Here is how you can check:

Even if the update itself is less than 16 GB, you should always leave some free space for the installation and the sake of system stability.

If your storage fullness indicator is  red, then it’s time to make some space on your primary hard drive.

The easiest way is to either delete some unused apps or cut and paste them into the “D” or secondary hard drive space.

Even If the update is already downloaded and installed, you still need to restart your computer for it to apply. So if you see any changes, quickly restart your computer.

This is a common issue for computers that work 24/7 for long periods such as office or server computers.

If Microsoft is scrambling to rapidly patch or hotfix the system after a major update, you might experience some issues related to improper updating. To resolve this issue, you must force Windows to search for the newest updates manually. These are the steps to do so:

Sometimes for whatever reason, Windows decides it’s taking a break from automatic updates. It is also recommended to install “Pending Updates” if you have compatibility issues.

If you have any plugged-in devices such as auxiliary external hard drives, docks, or phones on your device that aren’t needed for the basic functioning of Windows, then disconnect them, restart your computer and see if the update issue persists.

Faulty drivers are the Bane of computers. No one cared who your sound driver card was until it put on the mask and caused a blue screen. You need to update any drivers, and some of them require a different approach.

To learn more about updating all your hardware’s drivers, visit our complete driver update guide.

When Windows is started in safe mode, it can help fix some update settings, as Safe Mode forces Windows to run at default configuration without any other programs that might interfere.

To run your windows in Safe Mode, do the following:

After starting your Windows in Safe Mode, please try to force a manual update with the steps listed above.

Windows 10 has a convenient built-in tool specifically made to troubleshoot Windows Update issues. Here is how to access it:

Let the troubleshooter finish and then restart your computer to apply the fixes. Afterward, try to manually update your Windows using the steps we provided earlier in the guide.

Corrupt system files can cause an update to fail or get stuck due to missing critical information on your computer. You can fix this by running the native System File Checker or SFC for short. Follow the steps below:

After running the system file checker, windows will automatically locate and fix any corrupt files that could prevent your Windows from updating. After the troubleshooter is done, reboot your computer and run the updates as usual.

After you are one hundred percent certain that all antivirus software is disabled, try to run the manual windows update tool.

If your Windows update gets stuck midway through installation or download perform the steps bellow:

A faulty hard drive will always prevent the proper installation or writing of new data on it. A built-in function checks your hard drive for any errors and fixes them.

After the troubleshooter is done, restart your computer and see if the update issue persists.

This step should be done as a last resort if all else fails as it takes the longest to apply. By forcing Windows to restore your current PC version and any updates to a prior one, you can bypass some issues with updates.

Here are the steps to perform a system restore:

Your computer will restart automatically once you have gone past Windows Software Version

An alternative workaround to any update issues is to simply force Windows to return to a previous version. Follow the steps below to roll your windows back. Please note that you should backup your important files and data before attempting to roll your version back.

Your computer will automatically restart after the update fix and you will have an older WIndows 10 version now.

Performing a hard reset on your Windows PC is the last step in this guide. If any of the above-listed methods have failed, the only remaining way to fix an update issue is to clean wipe your windows and install it again freshly.

Before doing so, please by any means make a copy of all of your important files, applications, and data. Please put it on another computer or external storage device. There is also a way to refresh your PC without deleting files; more on that later.

Refresh your PC without affecting your files (recommended)

Remove everything and reinstall Windows

If you selected the second option, you would be asked to remove all data in a quick processor to erase it thoroughly.

Note that many files can not be later recovered or restored after such a wipe. This option is also very taxing on your hard drive, so ensure that it’s not already nearing failure.

It is not recommended to disable windows updates for security reasons. Here are the steps to stop them regardless:

Restart your computer for the new settings to take effect. Any other windows updates will be prevented while this option is on. If you forget to enable it, eventually, you might end up rereading this guide some time.

Windows update problems are related to incorrect update permissions, faulty system files, third-party software interference, or hard drive troubles.

In case that your hard drive causes the issue, consider cleaning it up or checking it for errors.

Outdated drivers are more often than not the biggest culprit behind Windows Update issues.

In rare cases, a hard reset of your whole Windows is needed if the error can be fixed by any other troubleshooting means.

11 Ways To Fix Netflix Showing Black Screen
