Suggested March 2024 Here’s Why You Should Update Your Iphone To Ios 15.2

Apple has officially released iOS 15.2 to the general public. This update comes five weeks after Apple introduced iOS 15.1, which finally brought SharePlay as well as other delayed features. Here’s everything new with iOS 15.2 that should make you update your iPhone now.

App Privacy Report is finally here with iOS 15.2

One of the features delayed with the iOS 15 original release that wasn’t available with iOS 15.1 was the App Privacy Report page. Now, with iOS 15.2, it’s finally live to all users.

After iOS 14.5 introduced App Tracking Transparency, which requires applications to ask permission from users before tracking them across other apps and websites, Apple is now pushing beyond this with App Privacy Report.

This report can be found in the Settings app with details on what data and sensors each app have accessed in the past seven days. Here’s how the company describes this feature:

A section in Settings lets you see how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts during the last seven days. It also shows you which apps have contacted other domains and how recently they have contacted them.

Apple Music Voice Plan support

During Apple’s ‘Unleashed’ event in October, the company announced a new Apple Music Voice Plan. Costing $4.99 per month, users must rely on Siri to ask for songs, playlists, or to listen to the radio.

According to Apple, users can subscribe to the Voice Plan through Siri by saying “Hey Siri, start my Apple Music Voice trial,” or by signing up through the Music app. Once subscribed to the Apple Music Voice Plan, users can request music be played across all of their Siri-enabled devices, including HomePod mini, AirPods, iPhone, or any other Apple device, and when using CarPlay.

This new option is available in Australia, Austria, Canada, China mainland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, the UK, and the US with the release of iOS 15.2.

Communication safety on iMessage

In August, Apple introduced its controversial CSAM plans. After a lot of misconception and concerns about its photo scanning announcements, the company decided to push back the launch of these features. Now, one of the features that were announced together (even though it’s not part of the CSAM project) is finally launching with iOS 15.2.

With communication safety in Messages, this feature is “designed to give parents additional tools to help protect their children from sending and receiving sexually explicit images in the Messages app. It works only on images sent or received in the Messages app for child accounts set up in Family Sharing. It analyzes the images on-device, and so does not change the privacy assurances of Messages. When a child’s account sends or receives sexually explicit images, the photo will be blurred and the child will be warned, presented with helpful resources, and reassured it is okay if they do not want to view or send the photo. As an additional precaution, young children can also be told that to make sure they are safe, their parents will get a message if they do view it.”

As we store more and more data digitally, a growing concern is that all of it could be lost in the event of our death – we’ve outlined in the past the risk to family photos in particular. Here’s how Apple plans to help us with that:

The Digital Legacy programme allows you to designate people as Legacy Contacts so they can access your account and personal information in the event of your death.

If you want one or more friends or family members to be able to access your iCloud data after your death, you will be able to name them and provide them with a security key. The key will not be usable while you are alive – Apple will only activate it if supplied with proof of your death, which would normally be a copy of your death certificate.

It’s worth noting that not all of your data will be accessible, as some of it is protected with end-to-end encryption. This includes Apple Card transactions, health data, keychain entries, and browser history.

iPhone 13 Pro new Macro mode toggle

With iOS 15.1, Apple made available the possibility to turn off macro photography. Now, the company has made another tweak to the Macro mode toggle with iOS 15.2.

The release notes say:

Macro photo control for switching to the Ultra Wide lens to capture macro photos and videos be enabled in Settings on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The company also added a dedicated Macro mode icon to the Camera app itself.

Macos Monterey Is Now Available, Here’s Why You Should Update

After four months of beta testing, Apple has officially released macOS 12 Monterey to the general public. This update brings a refined macOS Big Sur experience, and even though the main feature of this version, Universal Control, is still nowhere near launching, there are several new features worth trying.

Here’s everything new with macOS Monterey that should make you want to update your Mac now.

Live Text feature is here

One of the best features available with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 has also arrived for macOS Monterey users. Live Text function gives users the ability to interact with text in photos, such as copy and paste, lookup, and translate.

During the beta testing period, this feature was only available for M1 Macs, but then Apple also brought this function to Intel Macs as well. It’s very handy when trying to copy text from an image, and you can learn more about it here.

AirPlay comes to Mac with macOS Monterey

With macOS Monterey, AirPlay lets your Mac be an AirPlay destination, so you can quickly play content from your iPhone on your Mac’s display

For the first time, the Mac can be used as a speaker for multiform audio, just as the HomePod can. AirPlay works both wirelessly and wired using USB. A wired connection is useful when you want to ensure that there’s no latency or you don’t have access to Wi-Fi. Learn more about this feature here.

SharePlay also available on Mac

While SharePlay got delayed with the original launch of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and tvOS 15, it managed to launch with macOS 12 Monterey and versions 15.1 of all the other operating systems. With SharePlay, here’s everything you can do:

Watch together: Bring TV shows and movies to your FaceTime call

Listen together: Share music with friends

Shared music queue: When listening together, anyone in the call can add songs to the shared queue

Share your screen: Bring web pages, app, and more into your conversation

Synced playback: Pause, rewind, fast-forward, or jump to a different scene while in perfect sync with everyone else

Smart volume: Dynamically responsive volume controls automatically adjust audio so you can hear your friends even during a loud scene or climactic chorus

Multiple device support: Connect over FaceTime on the iPhone while watching video on the Apple TV or listening to music on the HomePod

Connect through audio, video, and text: Access the group’s Message thread right from the FaceTime controls and choose the mode of communication that matches the moment

Learn more about it here.

Redesigned Safari on macOS Monterey… but not so much

The biggest and most controversial feature on macOS Monterey is a redesigned Safari. Apple really pushed this new look during the WWDC21 keynote, but as the betas went by, the company slowly started to bring back the regular Safari design.

By the time the company released macOS Monterey, users from macOS Big Sur will still find the same design they are familiar with. But it’s possible to try the new look. Also, there are still new things with Safari, and you can learn more about it here.

Shortcuts app on the Mac

Apple also added the Shortcuts app to the Mac. During the WWDC21 keynote, the company called it “the future of automation on Mac,” as these are the first steps of a multi-year transition.

With Shortcuts, Apple is replacing Automator in the coming years. The app on the Mac looks similar to Shortcuts on the iPad. You can build new shortcuts, access existing shortcuts, and more. The Shortcuts app on the Mac also integrates with Spotlight, appears in Finder, supports multitasking, and increases with the Menu bar, and you can learn more about it here.

There are still many more features waiting for users with macOS Monterey. The operating system also has a few things that got delayed, such as Universal Control. Do you want to know whether to upgrade to macOS Monterey? Read these stories below:

Here’s Why I Look Forward To Jailbreaking Ios 11

If you’ve been following the news lately, then you might’ve caught wind about a particular tfp0 iOS exploit released by security researcher Ian Beer that could potentially aid in the development of an iOS 11 jailbreak.

Many people think the jailbreak is dead, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. While a jailbreak tool for iOS 11 hasn’t surfaced yet, I wanted to take this opportunity to share why I’m excited about the possibility of an iOS 11 jailbreak.

Why I’m excited about an iOS 11 jailbreak

I have countless reasons to look forward to an iOS 11 jailbreak, but these are some of the most noteworthy:

iPhone X – a game changer

Not only would developers discover new ways to tweak the iPhone X itself, but they could even port a bevy of iPhone X-exclusive software-based features to traditional LCD iPhones, like the iPhone 8 and earlier.

iOS 11 is great

While many people think iOS 10 is more stable than iOS 11, I’ve had nothing but good luck with iOS 11. Not only does it include all the latest features Apple offers to consumers, but it comes with all the latest security patches to keep you safe from hackers.

With that in mind, a jailbreak for one of Apple’s latest operating systems would offer the best of both worlds for users. Jailbreak developers, on the other hand, could utilize new features and APIs in iOS 11 to create entirely-new jailbreak tweaks unlike those we’ve seen already.

An exit from the walled garden

Apple provides notoriously-beautiful hardware, but infamously-restricted software. Jailbreaks expand upon the possibilities of both, providing users with a fuller experience explicitly tailored to their needs.

Some of the ways a jailbreak could benefit iOS 11 users are:

Enable Personal Hotspot without carrier’s consent

Unbarred access to NFC technology

Full filesystem access for unlimited modding

Fine-grained control over the look and feel of the iOS user interface

Access to an entire library of themes and tweaks that make iOS better

And much more…

The list goes on, but time’s-a-ticking, and we need to move on to the next section…

Jailbreak tweaks inspire Apple’s future software

It may be an overstatement to say that the jailbreak community inspires Apple’s future iOS features, but we’ve frequently observed where major iOS updates borrow features introduced by the jailbreak community.

An iOS 11 jailbreak would enable innovative minds from the community to tinker with iOS 11 and develop exciting concepts that Apple may one day include in future iterations of iOS.

Apple continuously hires talent from the jailbreak community, and it doesn’t seem to be a coincidence. Many famous jailbreak developers influenced Apple’s latest software, and the same thing might happen as we transition into iOS 12 next year.

Jailbreaks introduce new developers to the world of coding

Listen up Tim Cook: For many jailbreak developers, creating jailbreak tweaks provides a springboard into an early coding career.

Lots of jailbreak community developers go on to make apps for Apple’s App Store or work for Apple directly, but they wouldn’t have gained the skills they have if it weren’t for all the coding practice they get from making tweaks and add-ons for Cydia.

Each jailbreak season sees various new developers joining the scene and taking an interest in coding. That said, an iOS 11 jailbreak would benefit both jailbreak users and Apple alike.

Jailbreaks bring the community together

Everyone loses hope when we don’t see a jailbreak for extended periods of time, but everything changes after a tool releases.

Each year, new jailbreaks spur developers’ motivation to make newfangled tweaks. Furthermore, jailbreakers seem happy again, rather than exhibiting pessimistic and impatient attitudes toward the subject.

I for one can’t wait for an iOS 11 jailbreak because it will bring a large sum of the community back together. Even if it’s the last season of jailbreaking we ever see, it would be worth it to me (and perhaps others).

Wrapping up

Given all the different ways jailbreak developers might be able to breathe new life into the jailbreak community, it’s exciting to think that an iOS 11 jailbreak could potentially materialize all thanks to Ian Beer’s tfp0 exploit for iOS 11.0-11.1.2.

12 Reasons Why You Should Upgrade To Windows 11

Windows 11 is gaining popularity. Most new Windows laptops and tablet PCs come with Windows 11 preinstalled, and it is becoming rarer to install Windows 10 on a new device. Still the question remains what tangible reasons do you have to upgrade to it compared to Windows 10? We answer that question by running you through all the best new features Windows 11 offers.

1. Appearance

The redesigned taskbar comes with centered icons.

There is a heavy focus on glass-like transparency and a layered fading of colors.

The menus look genuinely inviting, especially if you’re used to aesthetically pleasing menu icons from other operating systems.

The taskbar, applications and file explorer windows subtly change their appearance with any desktop background of your choice.

A new Widgets menu with news, notifications, and other alerts such as weather details.

Not a fan of the latest Start menu? No problem: it’s very easy to move it to the left just like Windows 10.

2. Snap Layouts

Snap has been a core feature of Windows since Windows 7 but hasn’t gone through very many changes until now. Pre-set and customizable Snap layouts have been added to the Snap feature in Windows 11, allowing up to six different types of window layouts (depending on your maximum screen resolution) to be easily accessible at a given time.

It’s just so easy, fast, and intuitive to snap your mouse cursor and position all your open windows and tabs. For those of you using a touchscreen PC, just snap with your fingers!

3. Snap Groups

In addition to the new preset and customizable Snap layouts, Snap Groups have been added. Snap Groups are used to save specific layouts of specific applications. For instance, if you need to have your Personalization Settings on one quarter of the screen and browser tabs on the other, and keep two snap windows open for other activities, a Snap Group would remember all this information for you. You can return to it anytime.

Getting in and out of the Snap Layouts and Groups is a breeze. It doesn’t consume your valuable time as you don’t have to remember those window configurations: your desktop arranges everything neatly like a concierge.

4. Multiple Desktops

Previously, multiple desktops in Windows all had to share the same background, barring the use of third-party programs. Windows 11 will have desktops with individual backgrounds built into the operating system, allowing for that extra level of customization.

5. File Explorer Tabs

No need to struggle with multiple open windows. From version 22H2 onwards, Windows 11 has introduced tabbed browsing in its File Explorer windows. This allows you to create as many tabs as you want within the same window, scroll through each one horizontally, copy-paste files and folders from one tab to the next, and create tab groups.

The best part is using so many tabs does not impact your RAM or CPU consumption. Even when multiple tabs are open, the system feels lightweight.

6. File Explorer Command Bar

You can also rotate the images within the File Explorer window, and create new files, folders, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations from the “New” dropdown button.

7. Microsoft Teams Integration

The realities of a post-pandemic world have made good video-conferencing software more important than ever. Microsoft Teams has done well in this regard, and it’s integrated directly into Windows 11.

8. Gaming Performance Enhancements

Gamers will rejoice as Windows 11 supports some of the latest gaming feature enhancements which are at its best ever. The Xbox Gaming pass and its library features closely integrate with the PC experience. The next generation of Microsoft Games are more likely to be designed for the PC compared to other devices. As a result, you get the desired speeds with this version.

9. DirectX 12 Ultimate Support

DirectX 12 Ultimate is where all of the next-generation gaming features are going to be on Windows, especially for games using features like real-time ray-tracing and mesh shading. If you want the highest graphics settings and in-game framerate, having DirectX 12 Ultimate will be a necessity for Windows gamers moving forward.

While you can certainly find DirectX 12 support in certain Windows 10 laptops, Windows 11 supports DirectX 12 Ultimate as a minimum spec requirement.

10. HDR Video Streaming and Auto HDR Feature

A good HDR setting can add quite a lot to a game, but unfortunately, it isn’t natively supported by all games. This makes sense since HDR is somewhat complex. With Windows 11, Microsoft has taken Xbox’s Auto HDR technology and applied it to all DirectX 11 (or newer) games running on the operating system.

Windows 11 supports HDR Video Streaming out of the box and allows using an Auto HDR option which can be turned on for supported devices. At least for people with HDR TVs and HDR monitors, this will make quite a few games look better than ever with no extra work needed from the developers.

11. DirectStorage Support

Everyone knows a Solid-State Drive (SSD) makes your PC faster, but most modern games aren’t made to utilize all that extra speed. With the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles being built on top of NVMe SSDs as a baseline, games are being made with that level of storage speed in mind, greatly increasing the possibilities. DirectStorage brings that technology to Windows but is only going to be available on Windows 11. You need at least 1 TB NVMe SSD to get this benefit.

Even with Windows 11, running an SSD requires many precautions such as updating the SSD firmware, enabling AHCI and TRIM, keeping DeFrag On, and enabling High Performance Power options.

12. Enhanced Hardware Security

Windows 11 offers a more enhanced hardware security packaging than any of its predecessors. Apart from the regular options seen in Windows Security, there are three security features that help protect your device against remote threats:

Core isolation: this is a virtualization-based security with memory integrity On, protecting your device from malicious codes.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM): all Windows 11 devices have TPM module 2.0 in the security processor, with the highest cryptographic protection.

Secure boot: secure boot is enabled as a default in Windows 11

The first and most obvious incentive for users to upgrade to Windows 11 is to stay up to date, especially in today’s era of ransomware attacks. Windows 11 will be the first to get all the major security updates and fixes that could impact users of previous versions of Windows.

Frequently Asked Questions Can Windows 10 users get Windows 11 for free?

Yes, as of 2023, all Windows 10 users qualify for a free upgrade to Windows 11 provided their device meets the minimum requirements of hardware and software. It includes TPM 2.0 and higher, a PC Health Check, and other graphics and security tests.

As a general rule, if your Windows 10 device was purchased closer to 2023, it is more likely to qualify for a Windows 11 upgrade than a device purchased around 2024.

Should I upgrade to Windows 11 or buy a new laptop?

If your Windows 10 hardware qualifies for a free Windows 11 upgrade, you should prefer it as it will save you a ton of money. It’s very easy and you just need to spare 24 hours. We have a guided installation manual that covers all the steps.

How long will Windows 10 be supported?

Windows 10 is going to be officially supported by Microsoft till 2025-end. It will continue to receive security updates for another two years after that. It is also possible that Microsoft may extend the deadline in future given the slower rate of adoption for Windows 11, but it is too soon to predict that. Still, if you do not wish to migrate to Windows 11, you can wait a few more years.

Which Macbook Should You Buy? Here’s How The 2023 13

After launching an updated MacBook Air with the new Magic Keyboard back in March, Apple released its new 13-inch MacBook Pro today with the same improved keyboard and a few other updates. Not sure which MacBook to pick up? Read on for a detailed MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air comparison to make the right decision.

The headline features of the new 2023 13-inch MacBook Pro are a doubling of the base storage (now 256GB) and the switch from the butterfly keys to the more reliable scissor switch Magic Keyboard. That means the whole MacBook lineup now features the tried and true Magic Keyboard. However, there are a few other hardware updates with the new MacBook Pro worth considering before making a decision.

While rumors suggested this update could have landed with a larger 14-inch screen size, that didn’t end up in the cards this time around but there are a number of small tweaks like up to 32GB of RAM and available 10th gen Intel quad-core processors (although it’s, unfortunately, the 8th-gen Intel chips for the lower-priced 13-inch 2023 MacBook Pro models).

Same as the previous gen, compared to the MacBook Air, you’re getting the Touch Bar with the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and 4 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports on the higher specced models compared to 2 on the Air.

Strangely enough, with the lower-priced 13-inch MacBook Pro models, you’re stuck with 8th gen Intel chips which mean no support for 6K displays (e.g. Pro Display XDR). So if future-proofing is important to you, make sure to upgrade to a 10th-gen chip.

2024 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air I/O Comparison

On the hardware side beyond the curious Intel chip situation, we’re looking at a base SSD storage of 256GB with capacities going up to 4TB now for the high-end 13-inch models, both great new options for both the base and specced up models.

You can also custom order the 13-inch MacBook Pro with up to 32GB of RAM.

As for the FaceTime camera, it’s still got the same low-res 720p one as the Air and 16-inch Pro. And no Wi-Fi 6 here.

As for the higher-end 10th-gen Intel processor choices, you naturally do get more powerful options than the 10th gen 1.2GHz in the latest MacBook Air. Just make sure to choose carefully there for your needs and avoid the 8th gen chip models if you want to hold on to your machine for a while or would like 6K display support.

A couple more upgrades include the stereo speakers having “high dynamic range” as well as Dolby Atmos support like the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The triple-mic setup also has directional beamforming.

2024 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air Hardware Comparison

For the 2023 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina display, the two main differentiators when compared to the MacBook Air are the 500 nits brightness (400 for Air) and P3 wide color support.

2024 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air Display Comparison

Battery Life

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro lands with up to 10 hours battery life for wireless web and movie playback. That’s 1-2 hours below the MacBook Air and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

2024 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air Battery Life Comparison

For dimensions, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is just slightly thicker and heavier than the previous version (thickness increase due to the Magic Keyboard).

MacBook Pro and MacBook Air Dimensions Comparison

Now that Apple’s entire MacBook lineup has been updated with the reliable Magic Keyboard, it’s a great time to upgrade your Mac.

Weighing the defining features of the 2023 13-inch MacBook Pro like the Touch Bar, up to 32GB of RAM, brighter screen with P3 wide color, and more powerful 10th gen Intel chip options should help you narrow down which MacBook is right for you.

But for a lot of use cases, the 2023 MacBook Air offers a great value that should handle average computing needs with plenty of power and speed. The MacBook Pro definitely has its place but you’ll likely only need it if you’re doing more demanding tasks like video editing and rendering, working with big data sets, and other similar intensive workflows.

Website Captchas: Here’s How To Bypass Them On Your Iphone

What is CAPTCHA?

Before diving into the bypassing methods, let’s discuss CAPTCHAs and why they are used. CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a security measure websites, and apps use to verify that users are human, not automated bots. CAPTCHAs come in various forms, such as identifying objects in images, solving math problems, or deciphering distorted text.

Apple’s Automatic Verification

Apple has introduced Automatic Verification in iOS 16 and later versions, which helps users bypass many CAPTCHA challenges. This feature uses an Apple server to validate your device and Apple ID, generating a private access token to verify your identity to the website or app.

How Automatic Verification Works

When you encounter a CAPTCHA, the Automatic Verification feature sends a validation request to an Apple server using your device and Apple ID.

The Apple server verifies your credentials and forwards the verification to an Apple-verified third-party token issuance server.

The token issuance server generates a private access token, which is then used to verify your identity on the app or website.

Privacy Concerns

Apple ensures that your privacy is protected during the Automatic Verification process. The tech giant does not learn which app or website you are accessing, nor can it access your browsing history. The token issuance server only knows that you have passed the verification and does not learn any information about your device or Apple ID. The app or website only receives the private access token, keeping your credentials secure.

To enable or disable Automatic Verification on your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

Launch the

 app on your device.

Tap your name in the Apple ID banner at the top.

Password & Security

Scroll to the bottom and turn on/off

Automatic Verification

Using CAPTCHA Solver Apps

Buster: CAPTCHA Solver for Humans

Rumola – bypass CAPTCHA for Safari

AntiCaptcha automatic CAPTCHA solver

Please note that using third-party CAPTCHA solver apps may raise privacy concerns, as these apps may access and analyze the content on your device. Reviewing the app’s privacy policy and permissions before using it is essential.

Utilizing Browser Extensions

If you use a compatible web browser, such as Safari or Chrome, you can bypass CAPTCHAs by installing browser extensions. These extensions analyze and solve CAPTCHAs for you, making your web browsing experience hassle-free. Some popular CAPTCHA bypass extensions include:

Buster: CAPTCHA Solver for Humans

Rumola – bypass CAPTCHA for Safari

AntiCaptcha automatic CAPTCHA solver

To install these extensions, visit the respective browser’s extension store, search for the desired extension, and follow the installation instructions.

Employing VPNs and Proxy Servers

In some cases, using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or proxy server can help you bypass CAPTCHAs. This method works by changing your IP address, which may allow you to access websites and apps without encountering CAPTCHAs. However, this method may not always work, and using a reputable VPN or proxy server is essential to ensure your privacy and security.

Refreshing the CAPTCHAs

Enabling Cookies and JavaScript

Sometimes, enabling cookies and JavaScript in your web browser can help you bypass CAPTCHAs. Cookies and JavaScript are essential for many websites to function correctly, and disabling them may cause the CAPTCHA to malfunction. To enable cookies and JavaScript, follow these steps:

Launch the

app on your iPhone or iPad.

Scroll down and tap

Privacy & Security

Toggle on the switches for

Block All Cookies

Enable JavaScript

Clearing Browser Cache

Clearing your browser cache can also help you bypass CAPTCHAs, as a cluttered cache may prevent the CAPTCHA from functioning correctly. To clear your browser cache on an iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

Launch the

 app on your device.

Scroll down and tap

Clear History and Website Data

Confirm the action by tapping

Clear History and Data

Contacting Website or App Support

If you cannot bypass a CAPTCHA despite trying the abovementioned methods, consider contacting the website or app’s support team. They can assist or inform you of any known issues with their CAPTCHA implementation.

Understanding CAPTCHA Accessibility

CAPTCHAs can be challenging for individuals with disabilities, such as visual impairments. Many websites and apps offer accessible alternatives to CAPTCHAs, such as audio CAPTCHAs or simple math problems. Look for an accessibility icon or link near the CAPTCHA to access these alternatives.

Final Thoughts

While CAPTCHAs can be frustrating, they are essential in securing the internet from bots and malicious users. Apple’s Automatic Verification feature offers a convenient way to bypass many CAPTCHAs on your iPhone and iPad. However, if you encounter a CAPTCHA that cannot be bypassed using Automatic Verification, consider trying the other methods mentioned in this guide. Always prioritize your privacy and security when bypassing CAPTCHAs using third-party apps, browser extensions, or VPNs.
