Fix: Windows Did Not Detect Any Networking Hardware

Computers consist of a Network card that helps you get connected to the internet through the means of Ethernet or Wi-Fi. If this piece of hardware is damaged or not detected by the system, then you cannot connect to the network.

However, sometimes, you may experience the error message “Windows Did Not Detect Any Networking Hardware”, even when the network adapter is working fine. Some of us may see this error when new updates are installed on the system. To add to this, there are also a few cases where the culprit is VPN software.

Most of the time, Windows shows the Networking hardware not detected error because of the following issues:

Outdated or Corrupted network drivers

Faulty Windows Update

VPN installed in the PC

Inappropriate power management settings for the network card

Hardware issues

If you have just upgraded your PC to Windows 10 or 11, and the error appears right after the upgrade, then you can roll back the installation. There are cases where this has fixed the issue.

But if the option to roll back has been greyed out and not available to you, or the issue still persists, let’s get on to the fixes right away.

Windows Troubleshooter can fix some minor issues on your network device. If any other programs are interfering with the device or its driver, then the Windows troubleshooter will identify the issue and try to solve it.

It will identify the issues and fix them automatically. See if the error appears again.

Usually, the problem arises when the network driver is outdated or corrupted. So, you will have to troubleshoot any issues with the drivers first.

Update or Roll Back Drivers

It is highly probable that the new driver update is incompatible with your PC. So, you should roll back the drivers to their earlier version.

But, if the drivers have not been updated, then you should update them instead of rolling them back.

Check if the issue is solved now.

Install the Drivers Manually

If updating the drivers through Device Manager does not work, then you should update the drivers manually. To do that, you will have to download the drivers first.

The ethernet network drivers are usually found along with the motherboard drivers on the manufacturer’s website. But wireless adapters may have a different vendor, and you may find their driver software on their own page.

Uninstall the Network Device

Finally, if updating or rolling back the drivers does not do the job, you can uninstall the device and let the system install the compatible one on its own.

Upon restart, the drivers will be installed automatically, and the problem should be solved now.

When the computer receives some major updates, then the existing drivers may become incompatible with the new updates. Usually, such problems should get solved after updating the drivers. But, sometimes, there may be faults with the recent Windows update itself.

Thus, you will have to uninstall the very update to solve the problem.

See if the error is resolved. If you do not want to uninstall the Windows update, you can look for any new pending updates. Most of the time, Windows tends to provide a fix for any faulty updates.

So, it can also solve the issue of the PC not detecting networking hardware.

Observe if the problem has been solved now.

If you have installed a Virtual Private Network (VPN) in your system, then it may be the culprit. The VPN connection instance may have made use of the adapter, causing the system to not detect it.

It usually happens if you use any unsupported VPN on your PC. Thus, the problem should get solved when you uninstall the third-party VPN program. However, it may not always work. The VPN may have installed DNI_DNE on your computer, which may be causing the interference.

So, you will have to remove it. But first, you need to check if the DNI_DNE is installed on your PC.

If there is no DNI_DNE in the list, then you can move on to the next fix. However, If you find it there, let’s move on to remove it.

Type the following commands one by one in the Command Prompt.

reg delete HKCRCLSID{988248f3-a1ad-49bf-9170-676cbbc36ba3} /va /f

netcfg -v -u dni_dne

If you are not able to delete the registry from the above command, you will have to do it manually from Registry Editor.

Restart your PC and see if the problem is solved now.

Windows have the feature to turn off the hardware device or run them in low-power mode when not in use. If this feature is on, then the system may not be able to detect the network hardware.

Thus, you should set the device to operate in a high-power state.

Similarly, you can also disable the ability of the system to turn off the network adapter.

Observe if the error still persists.

If nothing works out, then there are probably some hardware issues with your network device. So, you can obtain an external network card or dongle that can be used to do the same job as the internal one.

You should be able to connect to the network through the new card now.

Watchos 10 For Apple Watch Officially Unveiled

Apple has announced watchOS, the next major update to Apple Watch software. It includes comprehensive app redesigns and a new way to view information across different watch faces. Here’s what’s new.

Watch face:

Official press release follows:

Introducing watchOS 10, a milestone update for Apple Watch

Delivering redesigned apps, a new Smart Stack, additional watch faces, new cycling and hiking features, and tools to support mental health

New Design Language and Navigation

With watchOS 10, redesigned apps provide more information at a glance, and there are new ways to navigate and quickly access content.

Apple Watch apps, including Weather, Stocks, Home, Maps, Messages, World Clock, and others, now utilize more of the Apple Watch display for more glanceable information. The Activity app on Apple Watch and the Fitness app on iPhone make tracking daily movement even easier with more details, improvements to sharing, a redesigned trophy case, and Apple Fitness+ trainer tips.

New Watch Faces

watchOS 10 introduces two new artistic and joyful watch faces: Palette and Snoopy. The Palette face depicts time in a wide variety of colors using three distinct overlapping layers, and as the time changes, the colors on the display also shift.

New algorithms combining sensor data from Apple Watch and connected power meters can estimate Functional Threshold Power (FTP), the highest level of cycling intensity that a rider could theoretically maintain for an hour. Using FTP, Apple Watch calculates personalized Power Zones, used to easily see the current zone and track how long is spent in each, which is an effective and popular way of improving performance.

The Compass app on Apple Watch is a helpful tool for exploring the great outdoors. With watchOS 10, Compass automatically generates two new waypoints: A Last Cellular Connection Waypoint will estimate the last place with cellular reception, which may be useful for checking messages or making a call. In case of emergencies, a Last Emergency Call Waypoint will estimate where on the route their device had the last connection to any available carrier’s network so that an emergency call can be made.

Mental Health

Mental health is as important as physical health, and research shows that reflecting on state of mind can help build emotional awareness and resilience. With the Mindfulness app in watchOS 10, users can discreetly and conveniently log their momentary emotions and daily moods. Users can turn the Digital Crown to scroll through engaging, multidimensional shapes to choose how they are feeling, select what is having the biggest impact on them, and describe their feelings.

In the Health app in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, users can see valuable insights to identify what might be contributing to their state of mind — whether it’s associations or lifestyle factors, like sleep or exercise. Additionally, depression and anxiety assessments often used in clinics are now easily accessible in the Health app and can help users determine their risk level, connect to resources available in their region, and create a PDF to share with their doctor.

Vision Health

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is the leading cause of vision impairment globally. To reduce the risk of myopia, the International Myopia Institute recommends children spend at least 80-120 minutes a day outdoors. With watchOS 10, Apple Watch introduces the ability to measure time spent in daylight using the ambient light sensor. Users can view this information in the Health app on iPhone or iPad.

Time spent in daylight can provide additional benefits to physical and mental health for all ages. And children who do not have their own iPhone can use Family Setup to pair their Apple Watch to their parent’s iPhone, giving parents visibility into the amount of time their kids are spending in daylight with Health Sharing.

When a device is locked with a passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID, all Health app data, including mental health and vision health data, is encrypted.1

Additional watchOS 10 updates include:

Apple Watch offers enterprise customers features to enhance productivity and safety in the office or in the field, such as hands-free communication and responding to notifications on the go, or Fall Detection on a job site. watchOS 10 introduces support for Mobile Device Management (MDM), enabling enterprise customers to remotely and centrally install apps and configure accounts on a fleet of devices, with features such as passcode enforcement, and configuring Wi-Fi and VPN settings. With this update, Apple Watch can further help improve employee wellness, productivity and health, and safety monitoring.

APIs for Workout App Developers

watchOS 10 includes new APIs for workout app developers that will allow them to create compelling new experiences. The powerful motion sensors on both Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra can detect rapid changes in velocity and acceleration, such as when swinging a golf club or a tennis racket. Now, developers will have access to this high-frequency motion data, so apps like SwingVision can analyze serve pronation, which is the twisting motion of the forearm, wrist, and hand, and Golfshot can detect small wrist movements to refine a golf swing.

But, to enjoy these features, your wallet will become US$17.00 poorer before you can use this launcher on your Android device. With all those features, 3D effects, and endless possibilities of customizing your homescreen, this launcher is definitely worth the price.

The MXHome Launcher is a simple launcher that features 3D animations. This launcher is just like any ordinary launcher, consisting of a dock bar at the bottom and few pages on the homescreen. What you do not know is that this launcher also has a few tricks that will surely surprise you. Just tap the middle button on the dock bar and unleash its amazing 3D effects.

Once that button is pressed, it will activate the 3D animations on the launcher’s homescreen. You will find a flying balloon that will serve as a battery indicator. You will find falling sakura petals, a yellow flower, or swaying dandelions. If those aren’t enough, you can also find a flying airplane that will pass by, drawing a heart or a smiley face on your Android homescreen.

The launcher lets you change your app icon to the launcher’s default icon theme. You will find your app icons, such as that for your browser, turned into an egg. You will also have a new look and a fully organized app drawer.

The MXHome Theme can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. There are also a number of compatible themes with 3D animations from the Google Play Store that you can try out with this launcher.

Most Android launchers, if not all, consist of pages where you can place widgets or app shortcuts. You can also access all your apps from the app drawer. The Claystone Launcher goes beyond this common design and introduces a new and interactive 3D display on your Android homescreen. Instead of separating the homescreen into pages and placing your apps on the app drawer, the Claystone Launcher combines these all into one and places them inside a 3D interactive interface.

Using this launcher, you won’t need to go to your app drawer, or place a widget to read the latest news, or check for updates from your Facebook account. All the things that you want are found on your 3D homescreen. You can open an app, read the latest news, check hot app offers, check your Facebook account, send a message to your contacts, and much more right on your homescreen. All you need to do is swipe up and down to jump through different sections on your homescreen and swipe left and right to view its content just as if you were flipping a book. You can also customize the contents on the launcher such as adding a section about business news or about health.

What’s more is that this launcher can be enjoyed absolutely free from the Google Play Store. The launcher worked perfectly and ran smoothly on our test device.

There’s nothing quite like having everything out in the open for easy access. That’s the philosophy behind Full Screen Launcher. Though people may like flipping through pages of apps, some others prefer seeing everything in one place. Launch Full Screen Launcher on your Android device and you’ll see that the desktop becomes one big wall of icons with OpenGL ultrasmooth scrolling.

Scroll left or right and watch as your apps tilt with your swipe. All your apps will be presented in a large wall you can scroll through. Swiping was very fluid on our HTCSensation. Overwhelmed with so many apps on your screen? Double tap and you can zoom out. Double tap again to zoom in. You can also zoom in and out by pinching.

Full Screen Launcher is a wonderful and fun way to look through your apps and to customize your homescreen. If you don’t want to clutter up your space, make a folder and throw shortcuts in there. When you want to rummage through the folder, you’ll be brought to another screen so you can completely focus on what’s in the folder.

You can get even more features when you purchase Full Screen Launcher’s pro version, such as being able to resize icons and widgets on your desktop.

Compared to the large wall of apps that Full Screen Launcher gives you, Nova Launcher makes scrolling through your home screen a 3D block experience. Swiping to the next page is like turning a 3D square around. The task bar at the bottom is also rather neat and attractive, packing icons for Voice Actions, Contacts, Apps, the Web Browser, and a preview of your homescreen pages. If you feel that your task bar is too cluttered, hold down on an icon and you’ll be given the option to edit it or remove it.

Nova Launcher is also packed with customization options. Even for the free version, you can select the color theme of your choice, as well as the icon pack. You can choose how you’d like to transition between the home screen and the app drawer. You can opt to sit back and watch the gorgeous transition animation or you can go as fast as lightning and discard the animation. Nova Launcher can use App Animations that it comes with, such as Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, or Slide, but it can also use your system’s default animations.

Upgrading to the pro version gives you access to gestures such as Pinch In to show Previews, Pinch Out to view Recent Apps, Swipe Down to expand Notifications, double-tap to access Nova settings, and a whole lot more. If you own a rooted device, you can have widgets in your app drawer.

From the name, you might be expecting a launcher with a lot of bunnies. What you do get isn’t exactly bunny-related, but it’s certainly fast and light. The Rabbit Launcher 3D Home Theme is a fast and light launcher that may appeal to the minimalist. It’s not overly clean that it’s spartan, but it’s clean and organized. Thin wire cubes float around your taskbar icons but don’t distract you when you’re browsing your homescreen.

It isn’t just the homescreen that looks visually appealing. Enter the app drawer and start scrolling through each screen full of apps. It’s like turning a 3D cube over. There’s a lot of space between icons so you won’t have to worry about accidentally tapping on the wrong icon. Switching between app pages is smooth with barely a pause. You can do a number of things from the task bar at the bottom of the screen. Access your recently used apps, check which apps are currently running, manage your apps and sort your apps by name, recently installed, and frequently used.

If you want to make your Rabbit Launcher 3D Home Theme experience even better, the launcher installs a Rabbit Store icon on your home screen so you can easily access and choose from dozens of themes.

Let’s take a look at a home screen launcher that’s totally different. homescreen 3D (free version) gives you a different home screen launcher experience by doing away with the typical home screen. Instead, it puts all of your apps in one place, right on your homescreen. You’d expect it to be messy and annoying but homescreen 3D puts them in 3 columns. Each app spins in its own 3D cube.

If you’ve loaded up your phone with a lot of apps like we do, don’t worry about having to swipe up and down through several dozen apps. There’s a taskbar located below with pale dots you can tap. Tapping them helps you climb down the app ladder, so to speak, so you can easily find the app you’re looking for.

Got too many apps? Tap your phone’s settings button and you can go through your app list and show only un-added apps. You can also increase the number of columns you have to four, which also shrinks the app icon sizes. Toggle between low, medium, and high textures or just disable MIP mapping. If you want to launch an app, tap on the app cube and it will zoom out. Unfortunately, the free version is only a preview and does not allow launching of apps. You’ll need to purchase the pro version to be able to launch apps.

homescreen 3D is tablet-friendly, so you can enjoy the slowly rotating app cubes on your larger mobile devices. It’s worth noting, however, that the app has not been updated in a while. According to the Google Play Store, the launcher’s last update was March, 2011. You may not be able to use it as a daily launcher but you will, however, be able to enjoy it’s 3D aesthetic.

A lot of the home screen launchers we’ve looked at seem to have an emphasis on looks and app accessibility. Let’s not forget that one of the main reasons why we love our smartphones is that we can keep connected with the people we love and the world around us. NetFront Life Screen was built with that need to connect in mind. Instead of just being a pretty face, NetFront Life Screen makes it easy for you to check on your friends without having to leave your homescreen.

When you launch the app, you’ll see your homescreen icons located at the bottom. Scroll through them and you’ll see that they’ve been set in a ring. On the right side of the screen, you can see your widgets such as your calendar and the weather. Tap on any of the icons in the ring and you can see the latest updates. Move over to the left side of the screen for even more icons, but this time, you can also access the app cube.
