Usually, when you plug an iPhone into your PC, the “Trust This Computer” prompt appears on the mobile. Then, once you tap the “Trust” option, the device appears in the iTunes application.

However, when your device has issues connecting to the Windows system, you get the “iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred” with the bug check code 0xE800000A. When the error pops up, you can neither back up nor sync your device to Windows. Also, the device doesn’t show up on iTunes.

As the error speaks for itself, there isn’t any particular reason why it failed to connect or where it’s having problems. Sometimes your devices could be acting up erratically for a moment due to a minor glitch. Besides that, the source of error could be the cables, the iTunes app, or the Windows system you are connected to.

Since your mobile device needs to grant permission to access it from the computer, make sure you unlock your phone while connecting. Also, tap the Trust option when prompted on the phone.

Likewise, disconnect your iPhone and exit the iTunes app before applying the following fixes.

The above error mostly occurs when your iOS device (iPhone, iPod or iPad) has a problem connecting to the iTunes application on your Windows system.

Therefore, connect the lightning cable to a different system and check if it is working fine. On the other hand, try switching the USB port when connecting the iPhone. And if you are using a USB hub, connect the device directly to the device’s USB port.

Also, disconnect any other additional devices connected to your PC and make sure your PC is connected to only the iPhone.

For each iOS device you connect to a particular computer, a lockdown folder is created automatically for each one on the PC. These folders contain lockdown certificates that store unique UDID data to know which data to sync for a particular iOS device.

So, if you connect multiple iOS devices to your PC, several of those folders exist in your system. And sometimes, they get corrupt, due to which you have issues connecting the device and may receive the 0xE800000A error.

To resolve the error, you can rename the lockdown folder so that a new one is created when you connect your iOS device.

The Apple Mobile Device Service is a Windows service that runs in the background. It helps to detect and connect any iOS device on a Windows system. If it’s not enabled or not working well, you can face issues while connecting your iOS device to Windows.

Therefore, you need to re-enable it and restart the service again to fix your issue. Here’s how you can do it.

When you connect your iPhone to a Windows system, it needs to run several processes in the background to perform various tasks.

For example, the iPodService.exe process provides access to iTunes while connecting your iPhone and AppleMobileSync.exe helps sync your device with the PC. Similarly, several other processes need to be executed, and sometimes your security software blocks them after misinterpreting them as malicious threats.

On Windows, the Windows Defender firewall, by default, scans for potential threats on your system unless you have installed another third-party antivirus/firewall. So, to resolve your issue, you have to disable the firewall. However, it isn’t safe, as you could be vulnerable to viruses and malware. A better option is to allow iTunes in the firewall.

Using an older version of iTunes is one of the main reasons the above error can occur. The older version of the app is likely incompatible with your system or contains bugs. Therefore, update the app to avoid such issues.

Note: If you have installed iTunes through the Microsoft Store, it gets updated automatically. But you can still go to its library and update it if you like.

Additionally, enable automatic updates on iTunes to avoid the need to update manually over time. You can do it as follows.

Either your system or the device is likely incompatible with each other’s versions, causing conflict. So, consider updating both of them to get rid of the error message.

Here’re the steps to Update Windows:

Here’re the steps to Update iPhone:

If the issue persists, reinstalling is the last option to resolve your issue. Doing so replaces any corrupt data or bugs on your current iTunes app and replaces them with a fresh copy of the latest iTunes application.

Here’re the steps to uninstall iTunes from the control panel.

After you complete the uninstallation process, browse the iTunes official site. Then, download and install the latest version for your Windows system.

7 Effective Ways To Increase Your Instagram Engagement

Are you looking for effective ways to increase your Instagram engagement rates? That’s a wise choice because followers are extremely overrated on Instagram. The only metric that truly matters is your engagement ratio.

However, increasing your Instagram engagement rates is hard, especially if you’re just starting out.

But let’s be honest – they are only effective to a certain extent.

You can have tons of followers on Instagram, but if your posts are getting much lesser likes than your total amount of followers, (e.g. <5% engagement rates) the engagement ratio of your account is poor and you should improve it.

In this article, I will explain why engagement rates matter and how you can make changes to help improve your engagement rates which could convert into a higher ‘quality’ account.

Why engagement rates matter

Both of these assumptions are highly detrimental and should be evaded at all costs. This is because it makes your account look like a ‘ghost town’.

If you post something that gets little to no engagement, what’s the point of posting it anyways? This shows that no one cares about the content that you produce. Moreover, this also shows that you didn’t bother growing your engagement rates.

How to Increase Your Instagram Engagement: Table of Contents

1. Follow for follow groups

Followchain.org is an example of a follow for follow community for Instagram.

Participating in follow for follow groups is an unconventional way where you can increase your Instagram engagement rates. However, you’ll have to be very ‘meticulous’ about this and choose who to follow wisely.

Follow for follow groups are basically groups of people that share their Instagram handle for the intention of other users discovering and following them. These groups are quite easy to find in contrast to Instagram engagement pods. I’ve written an article for a list of those groups, you can find it here.

There are two types of users in them, ‘the sharers’ and ‘the initiators’. If you’re the lazy type, you can share your Instagram username and wait for others to find, follow and direct-message you.

Or you can initiate, follow, and direct-message users that have shared their handle first. If you’re looking to grow your followers and boost engagement rates quicker, you’ll have to be the initiator.

Now you might be wondering, how can these follow for follow groups boost your engagement rates? Well, there are two reasons for this.

Firstly, you can state you’re doing like for like (L4L) in accordance with follow for follow (F4F). Most often, these two are usually in sync with one another.

If you’re following someone from a follow for follow group, you can also tell them that you’re also doing like for like. Most of them would love to participate in both.

Secondly, if you’re ‘meticulous’ about picking who to follow, your engagement rates will improve naturally. For instance, if your account is in a fitness niche and you’re following another account also in a fitness niche, they’ll tend to engage more in your posts.

Additionally, if you’re meticulous, you can do a background check of each user that you have followed and see whether they’ve engaged in posts of the people they follow.

Hashtags are becoming less and less effective on Instagram. In the past, you could use a bunch of random hashtags and you would still get a decent amount of likes fairly quickly. In the present, you can use relevant, niche hashtags but they will not produce the results you hope them to.

Here’s a quick hack you can use to find and detect the best hashtags you can use to get the most amount of likes in the shortest amount of time:

The power of this strategy is that you can find a bunch of hashtags that actually work and not just a few that are relevant to your niche. There are always some hashtags that perform better than the others and the only effective way you can find them is through this method.

Otherwise, you’ll have to utilize trial and error for a long period of time to find the best mix of hashtags, which is way too time-consuming.

3. NER: Network, Engage, Reciprocate

Now, this strategy is what I like to call NER. NER stands for networking, engaging and reciprocating. After all, the best strategies to increase your Instagram engagement rate revolves around these three points.

Networking is all about connecting with people either online or in-person. Follow for follow groups in the first strategy allows you to easily connect with people from all around the world.

For instance, if you were to follow a random person on Instagram (no mutuals), chances are, they wouldn’t follow you back because you haven’t connected with them in some way or another.

This is why following a bunch of people in a list doesn’t work anymore. People are increasingly wary of spam followers.

Ones that follow you just for the sake of you following them back. In the long run, this is highly detrimental to the quality of your account as in most cases, spam followers wouldn’t give you any engagement at all.

Follow for follow groups are quite the opposite because they have people with the same set of rules and objectives. Hence, the followers that you get from them are quality ones that actually actively engage in your posts (if you’re meticulous about who to follow).

The second point is about constantly engaging with your followers/following. What’s really important is the amount of engagement you’re giving to others.

For example, if you see someone constantly posting content on their feed, but never actually engages on your posts, you’re more likely to ‘blacklist’ that person and engage less on their posts.

Most people are fuelled by compliments and gratification, especially on social media. A simple like on one’s post signifies that you actually enjoy the content that they produce and that can go a long way.

4. Remove ghost followers

To increase your engagement rates effectively, you can also remove ghost followers.

Ghost followers are followers that don’t engage in any of your posts, hence, the term ghost. By removing ghost followers, you’re cleaning your follow/following ratio.

To remove ghost followers, you have to utilize mobile apps that track them. These apps track several metrics on your Instagram such as your new followers, unfollowers, users who are not following back, etc. other than ghost followers.

There are many apps like these on the Google Play and Apple Store.

However, most of these apps charge their users for detecting ghost followers as it is considered as a premium feature, so you’ll have to be prepared to pay a small amount of money to unlock it.

Personally, I use the app Follower Plus by 2 Creative Monsters LLC. They charge a one-time payment of about $2.00 to unlock the engagement metrics.

Now, how exactly does removing followers improve your engagement rates? Well, a majority of Instagram users also utilize mobile apps to track their unfollowers.

Hence, if you unfollow users that don’t give you any engagement, they can track it too and unfollow you.

5. Share your post on your story

This is a very underrated tip you can use to increase your engagement rates on Instagram. Whenever you post something, make sure to share that post to your story as well, and give a signal for people to like.

Sharing your post on your story will dramatically improve your engagement rates as its a great way to convert users into tapping on your post and liking it.

Suppose your followers have a huge amount of following, their feed might be flooded with other user’s posts. To stand out, you’ll have to share your post on your story as a huge percentage of users watch Instagram Stories.

To share your post on your story, simply tap on the arrow icon and then tap on add ‘post to your story’:

6. Connect with people you know who are active on Instagram

Following friends and family is a great way to increase your engagement rates on Instagram. You can actively search for friends and family who are on Instagram and follow them.

Friends and family are usually more actively engaged on Instagram because they want to be updated on your happenings, locations, or activities. Additionally, they’ll tend to engage in your posts more frequently as you might know them personally.

Following mutuals is also a great way to get quality follow backs. You can easily find and connect with users with mutual followers/following under a user’s bio:

If you notice that a user has many mutuals, you can follow them and there’ll be an increased chance that they’ll follow you back, in contrast to someone with 0 mutuals.

People are driven by warm introductions and mutuals enforce this.

7. Post less often

Now, many other articles or blog posts mention directly at running contrary to this exact tip that I’m going to be sharing. I’ll be responding to these articles with some actual facts and experiences and show how exactly this tip helps to increase your engagement rates on Instagram.

Other articles’ position is that by posting consistently on Instagram, at least once a day, you can get more followers and likes. That’s not always true.

Unless you have already established a large amount of following, posting consistently is not really going to apply to you.

If you post way too often, some people will find you annoying or ‘spammy’ and end up muting your posts. You do not want that. Users who mute your posts will decrease your engagement rates drastically.

Additionally, if you post a lot, you’ll find that your engagement rates tend to fluctuate. Your older posts might get a lot more likes as compared to your newer ones. This is because you didn’t give enough time for your newer posts to ‘catch up’ with your older ones.

Some people tend to only like your post after a period of time. It could be a few hours or a couple of days at most before their feed is flooded with new content.

10 Ways To Fix Windows Update Failed Error Code 0X80070003

Windows Update Error Code 0x80070003 prevents you from downloading and installing the latest updates. The cause of the issue isn’t always clear, especially if you just get this cryptic code.

Unlike many Windows update error codes, fixing error code 0x80070003 usually means resolving an issue on your local PC. Once you remove the underlying problem, updates should work as expected.

Table of Contents

The Main Causes of Error Code 0x80070003

If you see this error when attempting a Windows Update, there are four main reasons:

Corrupt system files could be the issue since the update tool relies on system files to work correctly. This could also include corruption in the Windows Update cache, which we’ll discuss separately below.

The Windows update process is complex and relies on several Windows services to work smoothly. If any of these related services are disabled or malfunctioning, it can prevent an update from completing successfully.

The Windows Registry might have configuration problems, which can be resolved by editing the Registry. With caution!

Windows Update consists of various subcomponents. If any of these components are broken or missing, it creates issues when completing an update.

Error Code 0x80070003 Variations

Curiously, the 0x80070003 code accompanies several specific human-readable error messages, suggesting it’s a family of related errors rather than a particular problem.

“We couldn’t install this update, but you can try again (0x80070003)” is probably the most common one, and restarting the system often makes the error go away.

“Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070003” is a little tougher to figure out, and a mere restart of the operating system probably won’t fix the issue. Most of the fixes offered here are aimed at resolving this error.

Other errors with the same code aren’t related to Windows Update directly. For example, “Error 0x80070003 the system cannot find the path specified” usually happens because of a disconnected or damaged drive. This article will only focus on the Windows Update errors with this error code.

1. Restart Windows

As always, the first thing you should do is restart your PC and rerun the update. If you haven’t restarted your system in a while, some services needed by Windows might have frozen or closed. Restarting your system will either resolve the problem or indicate that the problem is more permanent.

2. Disable Third-Party Firewall and Antivirus Software

These programs might interfere with Windows updates if you’re using something other than Windows’ included antivirus and firewall software. To rule this out, disable them and attempt the update again.

3. Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter

Windows 10 and 11 have various specialized troubleshooters that can fix errors in Windows without complex manual troubleshooting. In this case, the troubleshooter you’ll want to run is the Windows Update Troubleshooter, but the specific location of the app differs depending on which version of Windows you’re using.

After running the troubleshooter, assuming that it changed anything, restart your computer and see if the update issue is resolved.

4. Try The Update Assistant

If the troubleshooter does not work and you’re running Windows 10, you can try the Windows 10 Update Assistant to force updates using an external program.

5. Clear The Software Distribution Folder

If there’s an issue with the temporary update files generated throughout your update history, you can clear the download folder where they are stored:

Press

Windows

+

R

to open the

Run

dialog box.

Type

cmd

and press

Ctrl

+

Shift

+

Enter

to run it in admin mode.

Type net stop wuauserv into Command Prompt and press

Enter

.

Use

File Explorer

to delete the contents of the following directory:

C:WINDOWSSoftwareDistributionDownload

Type net start wuauserv into Command Prompt and press

Enter.

Try Windows Update again and see if the problem is resolved.

6. Manually Stop and Restart the Windows Update Service

The main service that makes updates work is the Windows Update Service. You can manually stop and restart this service to try and get it working again.

Press

Windows

+

R

to open the

Run

dialog box.

Type

services.msc

and press

Enter

.

Look for the

Windows Update

service.

Restart your PC.

Repeat steps 1 and 2.

Try updating again.

If you prefer to use the Command Line, here’s how to achieve the same result:

Press

Windows

+

R

to open the

Run

dialog box.

Type

cmd

and press

Ctrl

+

Shift

+

Enter

to run it in admin mode.

Type net stop wuauserv and press

Enter

.

Restart your PC.

Repeat steps 1 and 2.

Type net start wuauserv and press

Enter

.

Now try updating again.

7. Check For Corrupted System Files

To check that your current Windows installation is still clean and whole, it’s a good idea to check your system files for corruption. You can do this by running the System File Checker (sfc /scannow) or DISM tool from the Command Prompt.

8. Free Up Drive Space

Windows Update needs room to work. If your system hard drive is too full, the temporary update files have nowhere to go. If you’re low on space, you can uninstall some large apps or delete media files, move them to external drives, and generally clean up your unused data or caches.

If you’re unsure how to get more free space in Windows, check out 15 Ways to Free Up Disk Space in Windows 10.

9. Check The Registry For Errors

A misconfigured Windows Registry is often behind this error.

Warning: There’s always a measure of risk when modifying the Registry. If you haven’t worked with it before, check out our guide to using the Windows Registry. And always back up your Registry before making any edits.

Press

Windows

+

R

to open the

Run

dialog box.

Type

regedit

and press

Enter

.

Copy the following text and paste it into the Registry address bar:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesWIMMount and press Enter

Check that system32driverswimmount.sys

is listed under

Value data

. If not, change it and select

OK

.

Open Windows File Explorer and go to

C:WindowsSystem32drivers (

assuming your system drive is Drive C).

Check that

wimmount.sys

is present in this folder. If not, refer to section 5 above and repair your system files.

Restart the computer and try rerunning Windows Update.

10. Reset Windows Update Components Manually

While the Windows Update Troubleshooter usually resets Windows Update components automatically in the background, if it fails to resolve your problem, you may want to attempt resetting them manually. This should be a last resort since it’s a complex process with many steps.

Press the

Start Button

.

Type

Command Prompt

.

When asked, confirm that you want to run Command Prompt as Admin.

Type net stop bits and press

Enter

.

Type net stop wuauserv and press

Enter

.

Type net stop cryptsvc and press

Enter

.

Delete the

qmgr*.dat

files by typing the following command in the Command Prompt and pressing Enter:

Del “%ALLUSERSPROFILE%Application DataMicrosoftNetworkDownloaderqmgr*.dat”

Note: In case you’re wondering, “BITS” is the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and “cryptsvc” is Cryptographic services.

Now we’ll have to reregister the BITS files. Type cd /d %windir%system32 in Command Prompt and press

Enter

.

Now you’ll have to register each of these components individually. Put each line of code into Command Prompt one by one and then press

Enter

after each one.

regsvr32.exe atl.dll

regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll

regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll

regsvr32.exe shdocvw.dll

regsvr32.exe actxprxy.dll

regsvr32.exe softpub.dll

regsvr32.exe wintrust.dll

regsvr32.exe dssenh.dll

regsvr32.exe rsaenh.dll

regsvr32.exe gpkcsp.dll

regsvr32.exe sccbase.dll

regsvr32.exe slbcsp.dll

regsvr32.exe cryptdlg.dll

regsvr32.exe oleaut32.dll

regsvr32.exe ole32.dll

regsvr32.exe shell32.dll

regsvr32.exe initpki.dll

regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll

regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll

regsvr32.exe wuaueng1.dll

regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll

regsvr32.exe wups.dll

regsvr32.exe wups2.dll

regsvr32.exe wuweb.dll

regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll

regsvr32.exe qmgrprxy.dll

regsvr32.exe wucltux.dll

regsvr32.exe muweb.dll

regsvr32.exe wuwebv.dll

Once you’ve registered every component, type netsh winsock reset into Command Prompt and Press

Enter

.

Now we have to restart the three services we stopped before, so enter the following commands:

Type net start bits and press Enter.

Type net start wuauserv and press Enter.

Type net start cryptsvc and press Enter.
